Obituary Alice Pauline Bishop,
Montgomery City, Missouri, 14 May 1911
Montgomery Standard, Montgomery County, Missouri, 26 May 1911 In Memorian. Alice Pauline Bishop, daughter of Clarence and Susie Bishop, was born March 10th, 1905, and passed away May 14th, 1911, just as night broke in upon the beautiful Sabbath morn. Pauline was stricken with infantile paralysis some five years ago, and every earthly thing was done to stay her little life, but just upon the moment of apparent victory she contracted measles which caused her death. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.T. May at Bethel church Monday morning, after which the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the cemetery there. Pauline is gone; her little voice and footsteps are stilled forever; but we know she is in heaven where trials and temptations are unknown. For, as we read the dear old Book, we come to the passage which reads, "Suffer little children to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Therefore, let us, dear father, dear mother, put our trust in the Lord who doeth all things well, and look to Him for comfort, for he is a loving Father and He will comfort us. May Pauline, who has preceded us to that great beyond, be a guiding star for us, and her little hand extend out through the clouds and beckon and point out the way to us as we travel the pathway of life and be the means of gathering us home to God when our life-work on earth is ended.
