Montgomery Standard, Montgomery County, Montgomery City, Missouri, 20 December 1951 Mrs. Annie Bishop Dies. Mrs. Annie Bishop passed away in Barnes Hospital on Sunday afternoon. The body was brought to Hopkins Funeral Home where it lay in state until the funeral Wednesday afternoon. Brother Harold Nebel conducted the funeral and burial was at Liberty (obituary next week).
Montgomery Standard, Montgomery County, Montgomery City, Missouri, 27 December 1951 Mrs. Annie Bishop Dies At 72 Years. Annie Sarah Bishop (nee Stevens) was born April 24, 1879, near Wellsville, Missouri, the daughter of the late James E. Stevens and Mary Ann Capel, departed this life December 16, 1951, at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 16 days. She was united in marriage to George W. Bishop on February 11, 1904 and to this union were born two children: George W. Bishop Jr. and Mrs. Sarah Ham who survive her. Other survivors are one son-in-law, one granddaughter, Mrs. Harry Clare; two grandsons, George Patrick and Johnny Ham; three brothers: Lester Stevens, of Cuba, Missouri; Richard E. Stevens of St Louis; Fred W. Stevens, of Cuba, Missouri; three sisters: Mrs. Robert Greenwell, Mrs. Lena Dodd and Mrs. Gladys McDaniels of St Louis. Mrs. Nellie Luther and Prentice Stephens preceded her in death. She united with the Christian Church of Wellsville in 1916, and was a member at the time of her death. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, December 19, 1951, at 1:00 P.M. in Hopkins Funeral Parlor by Bro. Harold Nebel, with burial in Liberty Cemetery.
