Montgomery Standard, Montgomery County, Missouri, 23 Jan 1920 Mrs. Lydia Bishop died at her home near here January 14, at the age of 81 years and 10 months, following a short illness. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Leona Holbrook, Mrs Alice Engel, and Miss Louisa, and four sons, William, Clem, Frank and Joseph. She was a charter member of Chapel church and the Methodist church here and her place here will be hard to fill. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, January 10 at 1 o'clock at the M.E. church, the body being held until this date, awaiting the arrival of her son, Joseph, from California. This his first visit home in 20 years, was indeed a sad one for him. In the death of Mrs. Bishop the community loses one of its best known and beloved women and all join in extending sympathy to those left to mourn. ---- William Bishop came in the last of the week from Kansas City, having been called here by the death of his mother. Mrs Leona Holbrook was called here from Connecticut on account of the death of her mother, Mrs. Bishop.
