Fulton Missouri Telegraph, Fulton, Missouri, 16 November 1901 John Bishop is Dead. John Bishop, aged 84 years, and one month, died at the home of his son-in-law, Henry Houf, north of Fulton, early Saturday morning of asthma. Funeral services were held at the Richland Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and his ramains laid to rest in the church burying ground. Deceased was an Englishman by birth and at an early age identified himself with the Baptist church. To the sorrowing family and friends the Telegraph extends its sincere sympathy.
Fulton Gazette, Fulton, Missouri, 22 November 1901 John Bishop, father-in-law of Henry S. Houf, died, suddenly of heart trouble at the home of Mr. Houf six miles north of Fulton, Saturday morning. He was born in Leicester, England, 84 years ago and came to this country when quite young. The greater portion of his life was spent in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he followed the carriage trimmer's trade. He made his home with his daughter the last twelve years of his life. The funeral and burial occurred at Richland Baptist church Sunday afternoon.
