Montgomery Standard, Montgomery City, Missouri, 23 September 1927 Death of Fred Bishop. Fred C. Bishop died very suddenly of heart trouble at his home in St. Louis Sept 17, 1927, aged 46 years. In the year 1903 he was married to Miss Carrie Gresley. To this union five children were born, two sons and three daughters. Mr Bishop was a kind and indulgent husband and father, and greatly devoted to his family. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John [Richard] Bishop, early settlers of this county. In addition to his wife and children he leaves six brothers, one sister and a number of relatives and friends who will sadly miss him. His body was brought to Montgomery City Wednesday morning and taken to the home of his sister, Mrs C.F. Werges, and at 2:30 p.m. funeral services were held in the presence of a large company of relatives and friends, conducted by Rev R.E. McQuie, after which his body was laid to rest in the city cemetery.
