Centralia Fireside Guard, 13 Sept 1978 William Frank Bishop, 57, of 514 Miles Avenue, Centralia, died unexpectedly at his home September 5, 1978, of an apparent heart attack. He was born March 14, 1921 in Audrain County, Missouri, the son of Frank Lyle and Clara Anderson Bishop. He was married June 6, 1942, in Lexington, South Carolina, to Marjorie Frances Baker who survives. He has been employed at the A.B. Chance Company as a machinist for the past 25 years. He served five years in the United States Army during World War II. He served in the Normandy, Northern France and Germany Campaigns where he was awarded three Bronze Stars and a Bronze Star Medal. Survivors with his wife are three sons, William Frank Bishop, Jr., Melbourne, Florida; Robert Leroy Bishop; Donald Lee Bishop, both of Centralia; five grandchildren, Robert Leroy Bishop, Jr., Richard Leon Bishop, Holly Ann Bishop, Jennifer Diane Bishop, Amy Marie Bishop; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Bales, St. Peters, Missouri; Mrs. Sue Edler, St. Charles, Missouri, Mrs. Jane Mathews, Grand Rapids, Michigan; and one brother, James Robert Bishop, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Services were held at Fenton Funeral Chapel, Saturday, September 9, 1978, at 11 a.m. Officiating was Dr. Edwin E. Burris, pastor, First Baptist Church. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Mexico, Missouri. Honorary pallbearers were: Roy E. Hulen, Keith Claxton, John Beamer, Fletcher Beamer, Stanley Fadler, Jr., Donald Burnett. Active pallbearers were Frank Clementz, Randy Adams, James Hudson, Harell Aderton, Don Torreyson and Henry Riley.
