Everett E Perkins (1892-1967) married Mattie Bishop (1894-1918) in Hannibal, Missouri, on 2 March 1915.
Everett and Mattie lived in Hannibal. In the fall of 1918 they were staying with Everett's brother,
Walter Perkins, in Kansas City, Missouri, while Everett looked for work. Both Everett and Mattie (seven months pregnant)
got sick with the influenza. Mattie died 21 October 1918 of the flu and was buried in Liberty Christian Cemetery, Callaway County, Missouri.
Everett eventually recovered from the flu and returned to Hannibal after a short stay in Alaska.
On 30 June 1919/21 he married Blanche Violet Moore (1892-1989) and they lived in Hannibal. Everett and Blanche had 3 children: Ethlyn (Perkins) Moore of Pittsfield, Illinois, Blanche (Perkins) Harper of Hannibal, Missouri, and George Everett Perkins (died in 1925). Everett worked as a railroad car repairman for the CB&Q Railroad and was a retired shoeworker from the International Shoe Company, retiring in 1936 after working for 35 years. Everett died 25 September 1967 in Hannibal. He and Violet are buried in Grandview Cemetery in Hannibal, Missouri.

[Statement of Otis R Woodson, 24 July 2001] Everett E Perkins (surviving spouse of Mattie Bishop Perkins) remarried B. Violet Moore. They are buried at Grandview Cemetery, Hannibal, Missouri. Stone says Everett E. Perkins 1892-1967, B. Violet 1892-1989. Violets parents were George and Dena Moore from Edina, MO. We [Otis and Vanda] talked with Blanche Perkins Booker (daughter of Everett and Violet). She has a certificate that says Mattie Bishop and Everett Perkins were married in Hannibal at the South Side Christian Church March 2, 1915. Witnesses were Frances Via and Raymond Bunch. Minister was W.E. Reavis. Everett grew up in the Macon, Mo. area. He was in Kansas City living with an older brother, Walter, looking for work when both he and Mattie became ill with the flu. She was 7 months pregnant. When she died he was so ill that he was not told, until after her burial. Trying to get away from his troubles he went to Alaska but did not stay long. Came to Hannibal where he was introduced to Violet (2nd wife) by his sister-in-law, Mary B. Woodson. He spent most of his life working at the shoe factory. He and Violet were married at the Park Methodist Church in Hannibal in 1921. The Perkins and the Mary Bishop Woodson families remained close friends for their life time.
