The kids from California are indeed my cousins. They are Amber and Travis Larson, children of Mike and Kathy (Bishop) Larson. Kathy is my mother's youngest sibling. Siblings would be the children of John and Eathel (Leverett) Bishop. The children in order go Sharon Ruth (Bishop b.12/1/46) Davis, (who is my mother), Larry (b. 7/5/48) and Betty (Logan) Bishop, Harry (b. 8/27/50) and Sharon (Zumbehl) Bishop, and Mike & Kathy (Bishop b. 5/20/56) Larson.
     Sharon Ruth Bishop, my mother, was married to George Lipscomb and had two children. David Richard Lipscomb (b 8/5/66) who now lives in St. Louis. David has one Daughter, Paige Renee Lipscomb born 10/5/93 (Paige is the only great granchild of John and Eathel Bishop. Myself, Dana Renee (Lipscomb) Althiser (b. 10/04/67) being the second child now residing in Jefferson City, MO and am engaged to Micheal Southard of Jefferson City, MO. Sharon Bishop is now married to Thomas Davis and resides in Mexico, MO.
     Larry Bishop married Betty Logan and they have two children and now live in Columbia, MO. Their children are Timothy and Nicholas Bishop
     Harry Bishop married Sharon Ann Zumbehl and they have three children and now live in Middletown, MO. Their Children are Stephanie, Chuck and William (Billy). None of the children are married yet, however, Stephanie is engaged.
     Kathy Bishop married Mike Larson and they, as previously defined, have two children Amber and Travis. They live in Sun Valley California I believe, but not real sure that is the exact town.

     I am a Bishop by birth, and grew up in Mercer County, Kentucky, the place from which many of Vachel's descendents left to make their fortunes. I'm 30 years old, a University of Kentucky grad and work in public relations. I look forward to learning more about my Bishop cousins!

     Mary is the daughter of Frank Lyle Bishop and Clara Odessa Anderson of Mexico, Audrain County, Missouri. She has three sisters and three brothers. Mary is now retired and has been spending the winters in Florida. She has two daughters, Cindy Landrum of St Peters and Christine Noyer of Lake Ozark. She has a number of grandchildren. She is beginning to develop a stronger interest in the Bishop family history. Mary has been a leader in the holding of a yearly family reunion for her branch.

     David's parents are Harry Samuel and Marybelle (Groby) Bishop and grandparents are Wilford Granville and Mary Virginia (Oliver) Bishop. David and wife Sue live in Jonesburg, Montgomery County, Missouri. They have two married sons, Daniel Bishop and David Stanhope Jr Bishop, and one married daughter, Cindy (Bishop) Shaw.

     Kenneth's parents are Melvin Roy and Ruby (Sims) Bishop and grandparents are Frank Lyle and Clara Odessa (Anderson) Bishop. "Ken" lives in Columbia, Missouri, after retiring from a career in the U.S. Army. He has a married son Kenneth Jr, a married daughter, Tracy, and daughter, Lisa.

     My name is Mike Bishop. I'm descended through Vachel Bishop, Thomas J Bishop, Francis Marion Bishop, Scott Combs Bishop and James Robert Bishop. I live in sunny Sarasota, Florida.

     Robert is descended from Josiah Bishop (son of Jonathan 1739-1818) m 1764 Susan Inskeep of Virginia who moved to Ohio.

     Samuel Valentine Bishop was 2nd child of Eluide Bishop & Sarah Willie Hudson. Samuel Valentine Bishop and Ruth Virginia Luckett had two (2) sons: Sam William Bishop, born March 7, 1931, in Cook County, City of Chicago, State of Illinois. (This is his correct and total name as it appears on his birth certificate, all school records, legal records, and service records). James Donald Bishop, born June 19, 1932, in Cook County, City of Chicago, State of Illinois, died June 10, 1957 in VA Hospital, Murfreesboro, TN, buried in the Montgromery City Cemetery, Montgomery City, Montgomery Co, MO.

     William's parents are William Frank and Marjorie Frances (Baker) Bishop and grandparents are Frank Lyle and Clara Odessa (Anderson) Bishop. "Bill" was raised on a farm in Audrain County, Missouri, later moving with his father's family to Centralia, Boone County, Missouri. He married Patricia Ann "Pat" Mulholland of Fargo, North Dakota, and has two daughters, Rebecca Ann and Elizabeth Christina, and one son, Tyra Dale. Bill has been researching his Bishop family history for a number of years.

     Mildred Anne Bishop married William Cheatham on 20 April 1852. She was the daughter of Dr. Joseph M. Bishop, Jr. Mildred Anne Bishop was my great grandmother. Mildred Anne and William had a daughter Blanche Irby Cheatham who married Harry Martin Moir, my grandparents, who lived and died in Stuart, Virginia. Their daughter Mildred Anne Moir married Dr. Samuel Davis Kent and I am Anne Moir Kent (now Boos). I have a lovely picture of Mildred Anne Bishop hanging in my Genealogy hall. In the Moir and Kent families, I have six generations of their pictures.

     James's parents are William A "Lonnie" and Nadine Katherine (Wyss) Bradley and grandparents are William B and Nettie (Bishop) Wyss. "Jim" was raised in Mexico, Missouri, in the 1950s and 1960s. He married Mary Edna Long and has three grown sons, James Wray, Joseph Earl, Jeffrey Daniel. He lives near Hallsville, Boone County, Missouri, and currently works in Columbia, Missouri. Jim has been researching the Bradley and Wyss family lines for many years.

     Soloman and Permelia are buried at Liberty Christian Cemetery in Shamrock, Missouri. Soloman and my great great grandfather, Jacob Coil III, were brothers. Here is my lineage: The graves for Elijah and Lucinda as well as Jacob Coil III and Lydia Elizabeth are at Liberty Christian. I have pictures of all them.

     Deborah Sue "Debbie" (Bishop) Fitzgerald's parents are Melvin Roy and Ruby (Sims) Bishop and grandparents are Frank Lyle and Clara Odessa (Anderson) Bishop. "Debbie" with her husband, Barry, and children live in Lawton, Oklahoma.

     I'm the daughter of Roy Cleveland Bishop and Lela May Eames; son of Samuel Calvin Bishop and Alice Hayden; son of Granville Addison Bishop and Mary Ann Spears Wingfield; son of Samuel Bishop and Sarah Via(h); son of James Bishop and Elizabeth Penn.
     Born 11 Nov 1931 in Ft. Myers Florida. In 1953 married Philip Charles Fullerton and moved to Fresno, California in 1956 where we have made our home ever since. We have 4 grown children and 7 grandchildren. Phil is an attorney, now retired. I taught 4th grade during 2 of the 3 years Phil was in Stanford Law School and much later taught piano privately for 15 years. We both graduated from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina.
     Margaret has a strong interest in her Montgomery County Bishop branch. She is a leader and role model in the area of family research for many of the family. She attends the Bishop reunions there and is currently entering much of their data into her PAF database.

     I am a gg granddaughter of Joseph Jones Clement who m2 Mary Ann Spears Bishop-Clement. Mary Ann was m1 to Granville Addison Bishop who was killed in 1861. I have a strong interest in the Clement-Bishop families of Montgomery and Callaway Co. in Missouri. My father, William H. Cope, gr. grandson of Joseph and Mary, was born and raised most of his life near New Florence in Montgomery Co. His parents were Julius Hoss and Flossie Jane Brower Cope and I have several Montgomery Co. ties with the Cope side of the family also. I have copies of photos, from a copy machine (not good quality) of Mary Ann Spiers Bishop Clement and her mother Jane Lail Wingfield, Mary Ann Wingfield Clement, Senie Hayden and her mother Alice Bishop. I also have photos of the Permelia Clement, dau. of Joseph and Mary Ann, and several of the Clement siblings. As for myself, I was born in '53 in St. Louis, but was raised most of my life in St. Peters, MO. I have been married to my second husband since '88 and have one son by my first marriage, Scott. We live in St. Peters, near Cottleville. I have a A.S.S. Degree in Programming Management and Business and currently trying to find a job as a graphic artist. I do a lot of desktop publishing and image scanning at home and have been doing family research for about fifteen years.

     I am the gg granddaughter of Vachel and Margaret Bishop, through their son Isaac, his son George Logan, Sr., and his son who is my father, George Logan Bishop, Jr. I like to have a connection with our relatives. Wish some of Isaac Bishop's line would find me, especially. He and GGrandmother had several children besides my grandfather. I live in Lexington, Kentucky, and am a staff-assistant and a writer.

     Jodi Marshall's ancestry connects to the Bishop surname in Virginia three different times. (1) Francis BISHOP of Buck Island Creek, Albemarle Co., through his daughter, Elizabeth LIVELY (2) Reuben BISHOP (1805-1880) of Buck Island Creek, Albemarle Co., through his granddaughter, Lady Bugg BISHOP who married William James CLEMENTS (son of Peter Francis CLEMENTS & Martha E. BUSBY) in 1879 and (3) Sarah BISHOP of Henrico County, the wife of Edward MATTHEWS.
     Jodi's grandfather, Granville William McROBERTS (1909-1960) came to Canada in 1929 and remained here, living in Toronto and Montreal. Jodi was born in Montreal, but raised in Toronto. She now lives with her husband, Steve (who does the active genealogy research) and their two children - Zachary 4, & Kate 2, in Orillia, Ontario - about 1-1/2 north of Toronto. They both work in printing and advertising.

     Kelly Meyer and her parents, Art and Billie Logan, live in Marthasville, Warren County, Missouri. Kelly has lived in Marthasville, Warren County, Missouri, all her life. She has a daughter at home named Nicki Meyer. In her spare time, Kelly does research on their genealogy especially any information on the names, LOGAN, BISHOP and WADE. The Logans came from Wright City, Missouri. Margaret Ann Bishop, daughter of Napoloen Bishop and Martha Young was born 3-18-1869. She married Felix Hall Logan on 5-8-1889. These are my great grandparents. Margaret died on 1-21-1945 and is buried at Wright City, Missouri.
     Art has retired from the drywall business and Billie was a funeral home director for 14 years. Billie has a daughter, Keyy. Billie was good friends and worked with Pearl Lichtenberg for years. Pearl comes in on the Addison Bishop line and is buried at Bethel Cemetery in Montgomery County. She is the godmother of Pearl's son, Jeromy Walter Delmont Branson.
     I hope you [Nancy (Hale) Lee] enjoyed yesterday [week-end outing together] as much as Art and I did, because we really did and deeply appreciate what you did for us and with us and could have taken Will (Jack's "new relative", Ha Ha) home with us. We went to Wright City Cemetery on the way home and looked at stones of the sisters; which had Martha Logan 1887-1966, and Doll 1885-1959. Talked to Art's brother and he too agrees they were never married, lived in St. Louis near Kingshighway, which is close to Children's hospital. He was glad to hear that there is family out there. This family really felt like for years that no one existed.

     My ggGF James M. Bishop was a shoemaker in Staunton, Va, when my GF was born. I remember him telling me, GF, along with my mother (Ruth Mae Bishop) that his father left the family when my GF was a teenager, and my GF had to go to work to support the family and help raise the children which were girls. It is not known what happen to James M. after he left. In age, he would have been about 50, as it is believed he was born in 1833 ?. My uncle, who is now around 80 and the only one of the children of George Hormer still living, use to tell one of his children that his GF (James M.) was raised on Meachum River there in Albemarle Co. Va., in fact my uncle still lives in Charlottesville, VA.

     Christine is the daughter of Mary F Bales. She grew up in the St Peters area west of St Louis. She is married to Jack Noyer and has five children plus grandchildren. Christine has been very supportive of her mother and the yearly family reunion.

     Earliest BISHOP Ancestor is Rezin Laury BISHOP (c1778-1839) MD to VA to TN to Perry County, Missouri.

     My great great aunt, Elizabeth Jane Palmer, married Elijah Ninon Coil (Solomon and Permilia's son). Elizabeth Jane Palmer-Coil and her brother, William Palmer: three of his girls married three of his sister's boys so they were first cousins. Some of these Coils live in South Dakota. I was born in Huron, South Dakota, raised in Utah, lived in Montana (with husband) and am now living in Star Valley, Wyoming. My great grandfather William Palmer migrated to South Dakota tho I don't know why. Three of his sister's children moved to South Dakota, married three of his daughters. If I remember right they all did not stay in South Dakota.

     My connection with the Bishops is through my great great grandmother, Jane Pope Lail. Jane was the daughter of John and Mary Susan Williams Lail. She was born 8 August 1804 in Harrison Co., KY and on 26 June 1823 married John Spears. They had two sons and two daughters, one of whom was Mary Ann born 10 May 1829 in Harrison County. In 1830 the family removed to Montgomery County Missouri and in 1835 John died. Jane remained a widow until 22 July 1843 when she married Edward Wesley Garland Wingfield. After that marriage, Mary Ann apparently would occasionally use the surname Wingfield as well as Spears. Mary Ann married first Granville Addison Bishop and secondly Joseph J. Clement.
     Jane and Edward had five daughters, all born in Montgomery County. Their daughter, Lucy Edward, married James Henry Robertson, son of Jeffrey Granville Robertson and Mary Parker Ferguson on 6 March 1870 at the Wingfield residence in Montgomery County, near Wellsville. My grand father Edward Parker Robertson was born 24 July 1871. The Wingfields with their extended family of the daughters and their spouses removed to Seward County, NE in 1873. The Robertsons, with the exception of James H., remained in Montgomery or Callaway counties.
     Edward W. G. Wingfield died in Seward Co., NE in 1880. In 1890 the Wingfield extended family removed to Wilbarger County Texas. Jane P. died 7 March 1905 in Vernon, Wilbarger Co., Texas.

     Nancy (Hale) Lee descends from Greenberry and Zerelda Emeline (Castlio) Bishop of St Charles County, Missouri, thru their daughter Watoga Pocahontus Bishop. Nancy works with the Montgomery County Genealogical Society and lives in Shamrock, Callaway County, Missouri, with her son, William Gale Stuart. She has two grown children, Laura Nicole Wilson and Benjamin Scott Wilson, by a previous marriage.

     Leann J (Hueston) Stutsman's parents are Ralph Jr and Beverly (Precht) Hueston and grandparents are Earl Fern (Kettrey) Precht of Mexico, Audrain County, Missouri. Leann and husband Ron N Stutsman live in Springfield, Missouri.

     My Bishop family connection is thru Howell BISHOP, son of Samuel Calvin BISHOP and Alice HAYDEN. He was married to Minnie Frances HARRIS, daughter of Jarrott HARRIS and Effie Adelheid HARRIS. Jarrot's father, William Ramsey HARRIS was a brother to my ggg-grandfather, Jarrot Thomas HARRIS. I have been researching the HARRIS family of Albemarle Co., VA and Montgomery Co. MO for awhile now and have learned that the families of HARRIS, BISHOP, MAUPIN, BROWN, JAMESON, and many others are closely tied.
     I was born in St. Louis, MO in 1949. My husband, Philip C. WHITAKER and I were married in 1981. We currently live in Atlanta, GA, moving here from Missouri 14 years ago. Most of my family is still in Lincoln Co., MO and Phil's are in Dent Co., MO. We have 4 grown children (whew!) between us, Phil having 3 daughters from a previous marriage, and me with 1 son from a previous marriage. We also have 6 adorable grandchildren.
     I have been involved with computers for about 10 years and currently work from my home for a local real estate company, scanning photos and floor plans for their Internet web site. I have spent the last 5 years researching my husbands WHITAKER family and not long ago, decided it was time to look into my own roots.      Elijah Ninon Coil was married to my great great grandfather's daughter, Elizabeth Jane Palmer. Great great grandfather, William Thomas Palmer, was Elizabeth Jane Palmer Coil's brother. William's father was Seaton Henry Palmer and his grandfather was Ellis Palmer. I was born May 16, 1948, in Huron, South Dakota, Beadle County. My husband and I have five children and a number of grandchildren.
