| Samuel Addison Bishop (1825-1893) was born in Albemarle County, Virginia, but came to Montgomery County, Missouri, in 1835 with his parents. He left Missouri for the California gold fields in 1849, becoming an adventurer, Indian fighter, cattleman and businessman, settling eventually in Santa Clara County. Samuel married Frances Ella Young (1840-1923) on 10 September 1856 in Los Angeles, California. | |
