Vineyard Ridge Area of Roane County

Here are some interesting pics

When I was at the age of 11-13 we would ride our bikes out to these rocks sometimes.

We would come up from the groundhog slide side of the ridge, from Clio.

Once we brought a picnic lunch, Allen Armstead, Harry Bird and myself.

The view from the top of these rocks was beautiful, you could see rolls of ridges that went on and on. On this trip I drove the Van, (parked the bike) but the ridges seemed hazy and the view was limited. So I'd say the best time to get a view would be in the spring before the haze rises.

Maybe I just miss the country too much. But these hills that I once felt had me boxed in. Now seem somewhat comforting.
