This site presents the current state of ongoing research into the genealogy of one WALKER family.

The primary lines on the maternal side are of surnames WESTLAKE and KUMPF, 19th-century immigrants from England and Hessen, respectively. Those on the paternal side are of surnames WALKER and SPENCER, from England, Ireland and Hessen, but with members in the United States since the early 1600s.

The database includes known (to me at this time) direct ancestors; many, but not all, of their other spouses, siblings, and siblings' spouses; some of these spouses' ancestors and descendants; and collateral lines related by marriage when the individuals to whom they lead are of particular interest.

In constructing this database, I have consulted a long list of sources of varying reliability. Where conflicts exist, I have used my best judgment as to the most reliable information, but I have not yet verified every fact with primary records.  I am happy to provide complete source information on request.  I am also happy to receive corrections and additions at any time, although they will not be reflected here until the next update.

This site includes no living individuals. To encourage collaboration with other researchers, it includes only basic information; more information and sources are available on request.

Reference numbers, where included beneath an individual's name, indicate a matching memorial on Find A Grave.

If an individual's information includes a tag for a will or necrology (obituary or death notice), those texts may be available.
