ELLIOTT descendents

William Ernest Mckenzie Genealogy Project

The ELLIOTT clan comes from the Borders of Scotland and were infamous as Border Reveivers. However I have not traced my Elliott's back to that lawless age. My connection begins with Alexander Elliott, born in 1815 and who married Mary Sophia Storey in Gosforth 27 September 1835. Following the birth of their first child, Ellen, my great great grandmother, the family moved to Carrs Hill, Heworth just south of Gateshead. There, Alexander had a glassworks, Alexander Elliott & Co, one of many south of the Tyne and which was there in the 1850s. By the late 1870s this was gone and so was Alexander and his wife.

Apart from his daughter Ellen's McKenzie descendents I have yet to research Alexander's other descendents.
