#103.) Vera was born in Hackney June quarter 1904. Vera was the daughter of John Victor KISSELL and Elizabeth Ann
CHEAL. Vera died 3 June 1942 in District Maternity Home, Wycombe, at 37 years of age. Occupation: Hairdresser 1941.
She resided in Watford, Herts 1941, 1a Carey Place. Ralph's first wife, sister (in-law) Mrs D Rawling of 38 Blacksmith Lane,
Rainham, Essex listed with effect from 3 April 1942 Also mentioned in Army Book: Morgan Violet dated 3 April 1942, no
relationship stated. Vera died in childbirth of coronary air embolism and gas gangrene of uterus in a full term pregancy on 3
June 1942 in Wycombe District Maternity Hospital.
He married Phyllis Kathleen DICKINSON in Hendon, 12 October 1946. The following individuals are also

Phyllis was born in 10 St Julian's Road, Kilburn. London 15 February 1915. Phyllis was the daughter of Ernest Walter
Samuel DICKINSON and Laura Marguerite FREEMAN. Phyllis died 23 September 1998 in Archway, London, at 83 years of age.
She was baptized in Kilburn, 10 October 1915. Religion: Church of England. The following individual is also linked to this

He resided in Chirton, North Shields, Northumberland 6 November 1906, 27 Billy Mill Lane. He was christened in Holy

and Dorothy Hunter Dawson, after their mother died and lived with them. The Musselburgh residence may be a figment of imagination.

resided in Watford, Herts 1941, 1a Carey Place. Ralph's occupation: Gunner in Devizes, Wilts, 18 September 1941.
Re-enlisted into the Royal Artillery Embodied Territorial Army as a Gunner on 18 September 1941 and posted to 207th Anti-Aircraft
Regiment. Transferred to the Army Catering Corps on 12 January 1942 and permanently attached to 96th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment. On 8 May
1942 posted to 295th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery in the Middle East. Appointed paid Local Corporal on 8 August 1943 and to
Acting Corporal on 9 May 1944 with promotion to War Substantive Corporal on 7 August 1944. Posted to 163rd Training Camp on 31
March 1946 and promoted on 1 April 1946 to Paid Acting Sergeant. Returned to England on 28 July 1946. Promoted to War
Substantive Sergeant on 19 October 1946 and on 6 November 1946 returned to Palestine with Middle East Land Force. Posted to 3
Base Workshop on 4 January 1947 and left Middle east Land Force on 6 December 1948, returned to England and posted to Depot on 7 December
1947. Released to Royal Army Reserve on 9 May 1948. Discharged from Royal Army Reserve on 5 May 1952 as services no longer
required and re-enlisted at Hendon into the Royal engineers Territorial Army as a Sapper and posted to 302nd Airborne Squadron and promoted
to Sergeant on 6 May 1952. Discharged on 16 June 1953. Military conduct: Exemplary Testimonial: An excellent cook and
good soldier. He is honest, capable and reliable. Is a good example of what a soldier should be to young soldiers.

January 1942. Ralph served in the military in British Convalescent Depot, Nanthanyu, Palestine, 1947. He resided in
Tufnell Park, London N19 1948, 16 Hugo Road. Ralph's occupation: discharged from ACC rank of Sgt in London, 1948. At
42 years of age Ralph became the father of William Ernest MCKENZIE Mortimer Street, London WC1, 10 January 1949.
Occupation: Chef about 1949 in Highgate. Occupation: Gardener 13 July 1953 in Islington. Occupation: Bookkeeper early 1960s
in Covent Garden. He resided in Tufnell Park, London N19 5UD November 1980, 11 Littlefield Close. Sister in law -
Mrs Dowling, Rainham, Essex in 1941, presumed sister of Vera Margaret Kissell. Also mentioned in 1941 under next of kin in Army
Service and Pay Book under relatives - Violet Morgan - but no relationship disclosed.
Ralph had Fair skin; had Blue eyes.
In later few years of his life. Condition detriorating.
