First Generation - Catherine Amelia Anna Miller |
Catherine was born on October 16, 1911 in Louisville, Kentucky. We knew her as Kathryn Ann, but to her family and friends she was known as Katie. She married Walter Pendleton Welsh on June 26, 1932, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The couple made their home in Louisville and had three children prior to Walter's death on August 6, 1939, at age 31. Catherine died March 4, 1972, after undergoing heart surgery. She was 60 years old. She was placed to rest on March 7, 1972, in Westview Cemetery in College Park, Georgia. Catherine's parents were Isadore I. Miller and Catherine Unruh. |
Second Generation - Isadore I. Miller and Catherine Unruh |
Isadore was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 11, 1881. He worked as a car inspector for the L&N Railroad. He married Catherine Unruh in Louisville on September 26, 1905. They had 4 children: Huston, George, Isadore and Catherine. His wife, Catherine, died in 1914. Isadore married Lorena J. Wernert on February 17, 1925 in Louisville. Lorena had a daughter, Agnes, from a previous marriage. Isadore died October 27, 1951, in Louisville, at age 70, and is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery in Louisville. Isadore's parents were John Miller and Elizabeth Peltier. Catherine Unruh Miller was born in Louisville on December 4, 1883. She died October 3, 1914. She is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery. Catherine's parents were Edward Unruh and Anna Thoma (Nemer). |

John Miller and Elizabeth Peltier |
John Miller was a cigar maker. He was born in Kentucky in October 1857. He married Elizabeth Peltier in Louisville on March 2, 1880. Elizabeth was born in May, 1862. We have not been able to establish a date of death for either John or Elizabeth. They had four children: Isadore, Mary, Martin and Charles. John's parents were Martin and Mary Muller. We believe Elizabeth's parents were Isadore and Philippine Peltier but have been unable to find definite proof. |
Edward Unruh and Anna Thoma (Nemer) |
Edward was born in Louisville on November 25, 1855. He married Anna Thoma (Nemer) on May 10, 1883 in Louisville. They had seven children: Catherine, Edward, George, Andrew, John, Victor and Leo. Edward died October 27, 1928, at the age of 72. He is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery in Louisville. Edward had a sister, Amelia Unruh Heyback. Anna Thoma (Nemer) was born March 13, 1857, in Fulda, Spencer County, Indiana. Anna's father Johann George Thoma died before she was born. Anna apparently took the name of her stepfather, Joseph Nemer, as her name is recorded as Anna Nemer on her marriage records and other documents. Anna died October 15, 1903, in Louisville at age 46. She is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery. Anna's parents are Johann George Thoma and Barbara Lex. |

Martin and Mary were both born in Baden, Germany. Martin was born in ca 1824; Mary in ca 1834. They were married in 1855. Children born to Martin and Mary were: August, John, Teresa, Albert, Emma, Martin and William. |
Johann George Thoma and Barbara Lex |
Johann George was born ca 1826. He married Barbara Lex in Fulda, Spencer County, Indiana on August 6, 1854. They had two children: George and Anna. Johann George Thoma died September 21, 1856, in Fulda at 30 years of age. Their daughter, Anna was born five months after George's death and is often shown as Anna Nemer. Barbara Lex was born in Bavaria on December 26, 1833. After Johann George Thoma's death, she married Joseph Nemer on April 28, 1857, In Fulda. Barbara died January 3, 1894 in Spencer County, Indiana, at age 61. Barbara's father was Michael Lex. |
Fifth Generation - Michael Lex |
Michael Lex was born in Germany in 1788. He immigrated to the U.S. on August 15, 1851, at age 71. |
