Notes for Mary:

Her birth is recorded in the "DeKalb County Birth Records".  Death recorded in the 1981 Reunion minutes.

In Mary's 8th grade graduating class (on her commencement card) it says "WPS The Graduating Class of the Grammar Department of the Waterloo Public Schools Announces the Commencement Exercises Wednesday Afternoon, March 26, 1920 High School Assembly Room Two o'clock.  Motto:  "Onward is Our Aim" Flower:  Lily of the Valley  CLASS ROLL Oliver Opdycke, Laura Green, Mary Bonfiglio, Grace Knott, Iva Mergy, Forrest Zerkle, Irene Griffin, Mary Hanes, Ruth Wing, and Ethel Bowman."

In the Hamilton New, April 25, 1941, it says, "Mrs. Joe Williamson and daughter, Mary Lou, of Auburn, and Theron and Wilmet Haines of Goshen were Sunday guests of Harry Dirrim and family."

Her obituary is in the Auburn Evening Star, and says, "Mary A. Williamson, 76, 424 W. Ninth St., Auburn, died Sunday at 9 a.m. in Dekalb Memorial Hospital, where she was a patient two days.  Mrs. Williamson was a retired employee of General Electric and lived on Ninth Street the past 44 years.  She was a member of the Auburn Nazarene Church.  She was born  Jan. 8, 1904 to the late Harry and Harriett (Copeland) Hanes.  She married Joseph Williamson in Elkhart, Ind. on Oct. 22, 1925 and he preceded her in death in 1954.  Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Peg) Crouch, Auburn, one brother, Theron Hanes, Warsaw, Indiana; two sisters Mrs. George Buss, Waterloo; Mrs. Harry Durham (sp. mistake...should be Dirrim), Hamilton; four grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  One grandchild preceded her in death.  Her funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Dilgard Cline & Southern Funeral Home, Auburn.  Rev. Carl Greek, pastor of the Nazarene Church will officiate.  Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery, Auburn.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. tonight."

Notes for Joseph D. Williamson:
He was an electrician.  He is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery, in Auburn, IN.  He was a veteran of the Spanish American War.

In the Auburn Courier, Feb. 28, 1901, Thurs, "Joseph Williamson Jr., who is employed in the body factory was quit severely injured yesterday by a board which flew back from the saw, hitting him in the stomach with great force.  He was carried home unconscious and it was feared that he would die but he is reported better today."

His obituary in the Dec. 8, 1954, Wed., The Evening Star says:  "AUBURN RESIDENT DIED AT AGE OF 72  Heart Ailment Claimed Life of Joseph Williamson a Few Hours after He entered Veterans Hospital  A long-time resident of Auburn, Joseph D. Williamson, died at the age of 72 at the Veterans Hospital in Fort Wayne Tuesday afternoon of a heart ailment.  Mr. Williamson, a veteran of the Spanish-American War had been in failing health for about two years.  He entered the hospital Tuesday morning, shortly before his death.  He was born at Corunna on March 12, 1882.  On Oct. 2, 1925, he and Mary Hanes were married at Elkhart. The couple moved to Auburn after their marriage.  Mr. Williamson was an electrician.  Surviving besides the widow who resides at 424 West Ninth street, Auburn, are a daughter, Mrs. Charles Crouch of Phoenixville, Pa.; three grandchildren, David, John, and Michael and two brothers, Harry S. Williamson of 402 South Phillip street, Auburn, and Ted Williamson of Lansing Mich.  The body was removed to the Dilgard & Cline funeral home in Auburn for burial preparations and will remain there for final rites which will be in charge of the American Legion of Auburn.  The Rev. Joseph Ferguson of near Auburn will officiate at the services, which will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, and burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, near Auburn.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Thursday."
