Lost Lines
Several of the lost lines of early descendants have been found. They include son George; James, the third son of James and Susanna; John, the third son and Daniel, the fourth son of Daniel, and their sister Mary. The ones remaining are son John and these excerpts from The Weddells of Old Westmoreland:
"We know nothing about the three daughters of George and Mary except that Dr. Oliver Weddell, in his history of the family quotes his father, George Washington Weddell -'cannot recall the first two girls' names but the third one was Margaret'."
<"Peter, the second son of Daniel, was born in 1787. He married Margaret Huston, of Washington County, PA, where they lived for a year or two, she dying in her first confinement, leaving a living daughter. Shortly after his wife died he moved to Ohio, where he again married and raised a family of several children, and remained there the balance of his life."
"Rebecca, fourth daughter of James and Susanna, married Jesse Wilson and lived near the old Weddell neighborhood. She died in her first confinement, leaving a living child."
"Susan, fifth daughter of James and Susanna married a Mr. Milligan and they located in Ohio."
