Ella Viola Sadler
1864-1937




           Ella Viola Sadler was born on February 28, 1864 in Leroy, Mower, Minnesota. Daughter of Milton Preston Sadler and Mary Jane Alsdorf  She died on January 21, 1937 in Dinuba, California. She was married to George Nelson Gitchell (son of William Gitchell and Mary) on December 26, 1881 in Sadler Homestead, Randall, Jewell, Kansas.  George Nelson Gitchell was born on April 9, 1861.  He died in June 1944.  Ella Viola Sadler and George Nelson Gitchell had the following children:

                  i.  Josie Bell Gitchell (born on September 24, 1883).

               ii.  May Bertha Gitchell (born on March 6, 1885).

  Josie Bell Gitchell (Ella Viola Sadler-1)  was born on September 24, 1883 in Jamestown, KS.  She died in June 1947.

She was married to Phil Newman on August 19, 1901.  Josie Bell Gitchell and Phil Newman had the following children:

  i.  Phyllis Viola Newman (born on June 18, 1902).

              ii.  Abraham George (Buster) Newman (born on December 31, 1905).

 

Josie Bell was married to Albert (Ted) Allen on August 25, 1925.

  May Bertha Gitchell (Ella Viola Sadler-1)  was born on March 6, 1885 in Jamestown, KS.  She died on March 4, 1988 in San Pablo, CA.  She was buried in Los Banos Cemetery.She was married to Charles Franchi on July 29, 1901.  Charles Franchi was born on October 27, 1874.  He died on April 20, 1943.  May Bertha Gitchell and Charles Franchi had the following children:

 

                  i.  Raymond Charles Franchi (born on July 24, 1905).

                ii.  Lauren Maynard Franchi (born on November 11, 1907).
