Virgil Shamburg (Daniel Leroy-1) was born on August 13, 1906 in Scottsville, Mitchell, Kansas.  He died on June 10, 1977 in Springfield, Missouri. Worked as a farmer and auto mechanic for many years.  Later, became salesman for paint and roofing supply business.  Retired in Branson, Missours before passing away in Springfield

 

He was married to Velma Goldia Sadler (daughter of Eben Melville Sadler and Ruth Ann Hockett) on February 18, 1928 in Scottsville, Mitchell, Kansas.  He was divorced from Velma Goldia Sadler in 1945.  Velma Goldia Sadler was born on November 10, 1910 in Randall, Jewell, Kansas.  She died on July 26, 1989 in Syracuse, Kansas.  Velma Goldia Sadler Shamburg Donnelly passed away on July 26,1989 at St Catherine Hospital, Garden City, Kansas.  She was buried at Syracuse Cemetery, Syracuse, Kansas.

 She was a resident of Syracuse for 40 years after moving from Scottsville, Kansas.  In Syracuse, she was on the Board of Directors of VIP, served on the nutition council of VIP, was a president of Lucky 7 EHU and a member of the Grandmothers Club.  She served two four-year terms of the Southwest Area Agency on Aging board of Directors, and was on the sub-region 4 advisory board of Dodge City, Kansas. She was survived by 40 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.
