Daniel Shamburg II was born on July 10, 1853 in Knoxville, Frederick County, Maryland. He died on December 28,1920 in Scottsville, Mitchell, Kansas.
The town of Scottsville was incorporated in 1907 with Ira Keeler as the first Mayor. Daniel Leroy Shamburg served as the second Mayor of Scottsville, in the early 1900's.

He was married to Eliza Jane Mace (daughter of Abraham "Abrain" Mace and Jane Trousler) on October 2, 1873 in Lucas City, Iowa.
Eliza Jane Mace was born on June 4, 1854 in Maryville, Iowa. She died on July 7, 1935 in Scottsville, Mitchell, Kansas. Daniel Shamburg II and Eliza Jane Mace had the following children:
