William Alexander Cale was born on 1 Mar 1870 in Chatom, Washington County, Alabama.17,18,19,20 He was born on 4 Mar 1870.21 He married Sarah Eliza Harris (see #3), daughter of Henry Harris and Sarah Jones, on 26 Jun 1894 in Seaboard, Washington County, Alabama. He died on 19 May 1938 in Chunchula, Mobile County, Alabama, at age 68 due to diabetes mellitus.22,23,24 He was buried on 22 May 1938 in Chunchula, Mobile County, Alabama.25
According to researcher's mother's notes: William was apparently an ophan and his father or grandfather possibly fought in the Indian and Civil War. Berry Cale witnessed WIlliam's marriage. William signed his name W. M. Cale.
Alabama land patents have been located for Will Cale, dated 25 Oct 1897, Dan Cale, dated 22 May 1899, and Berry Cale, dated 07 Dec 1899 all in Washington Co., AL.
Will and Dan Cale were neighbors in Sims Chapel, Washington Co., AL during the 1900 census. Berry and Dan Cale were neighbors on Mt. Vernon Road, Mobile Co., AL during the 1910 census. Will Cale was living in Chunchula, Mobile Co., AL during the 1920 census.
He was a farmer and turpentine worker.26,27
