Andrew Johnson Chapman (1820-1895) with his

Andrew Johnson Chapman was the wagon master of a 50-wagon train that left Illinois in the spring of 1853 with the Marks and Kays families, headed for Oregon.  A. J. and Sarah Jane Chapman arrived in Oregon in September 1853 and took a Donation Land Claim near the mouth of the East Umpqua in 1854.
