______________________________
There was a Henry Scoggins who worked with Daniel Boone. This Henry
Scoggins may have been a father or grandfather of our Henry named Henry.
Our Henry Scoggins had a son named "Squire". Is it a coincidence or was
Squire Henry named after Daniel Boones father "Squire" Boone? Daniel
Boone was a surveyor. He surveyed nearly all the land in Kentucky.
Daniel was born in Pennsylvania on November 2, 1734, to Quaker parents
from Devon. His fathers name was Squire Boone and his mother was Sarah
Morgan. In the year 1764 Daniel Boone marked a trail to Kentucky. Henry
Scoggins also worked for "Henderson's Land Co." in 1764.
1713 Boone's father, Squire, arrives in Philadelphia from England.
1720 Squire Boone and Sarah Morgan marry in the Friends' meetinghouse
in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania.
1731 Boone's parents relocate to the upper Schuylkill River valley.
1734 Born in Exeter township, near Reading, on October 22.
1755 the French and Indian War begins; Boone was with Braddock's
army during the disastrous defeat near Pittsburgh.
1756 Marries Rebecca Bryan on August 14; they soon settle in Rowan County.
1759 During the Cherokee War, family flees to Culpeper County, Virginia.
1760 Squire Boone left Philadelphia to arrive in Rowan County, North
Carolina, on the Yadkin River
1760 Boone first crosses the Blue Ridge during his winter hunt.
1762 The Boones return to Rowan County.
1765 Boone explores the Florida country with an eye to moving there.
Squire BOONE died at age: 69
Born: 1696 in: Bradnich,DEV,ENG

I spend last week doing research at the Arkansas History Commission in
Little Rock. I found Civil War pension records for my great grandfather
Squire Henry SCOGGINS. In these records a Manuel SCOGGINS reports
that his brother Squire Henry was 18 in December 1862. The Arkansas
Death Index shows a Imanuel Scoggins died 5/7/1930 in Conway Co. AR.
The Certificate of Death shows his father as Henry SCOGGINS and mother
Cynthia DeeAnna POOLE. His dated of birth as Oct. 28, 1845 and birthplace
as Pickens District South Carolina. Also mentioned in Squire Henry pension
records is that he was from DeKalb county Alabama. I checked the 1860 Census
Alabama Index and found Syntha D. SCOGGINS in Northern Division DeKalb
county Alabama PO Rawlingsville with Icy, Emma, Squire H.,Manuel, Cuida,
Malinda, and Catherine. The 1870 Census T6 R9 Dekalb Co. Alabama PO
Rawlingsville shows Cynthia SCOGGINS, Emanuel, Lucuida, Melinda, and
Catherine.I believe Manuel moved to Conway Arkansas sometime in 1890. I
still have not found any record with Henry SCOGGINS in South Carolina 1850
nor Syntha. I have checked other state but still can find them.
Hope this information is of help.
