People who met with death in various ways in Luzerne County during the year December 1, 1898 thru November 30, 
1899, not including those killed in mines and on railroads.

Robert Simonson, Massachusetts, killed while working at Retreat by being caught in a fly wheel, Dec. 12, 1898.
Levi Davenport, Lehman Centre, killed by falling under his wagon, Dec. 29, 1898.

Joseph C. Moore (detective) burned to death in Osterhout building fire, Wilkes-Barre, Jan. 24, 1899.
Attorney Robert D. Evans, burned in Osterhout building fire, died Jan. 31.
Child of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius McLaughlin, 5 years, Avoca, burns, Jan. 31.

Charles Hahn, White Haven, by falling from a building, Feb. 3.
