  - Legend has that our Barnes families came into AL through central GA from NC. They were thought to have been guards on one of the indentured shipments to America, probably Nova Scotia. They travelled south into GA and then west through AL.

  - It is a long held tradition that this Wright family is kin to Orville and Wilbur Wright, "The Wright Brothers". Documentation to prove this relationship has not been found.

  Gatsey and her children left North Carolina before 1858 in an ox-drawn covered wagon with barrels of money. She bought 320 acres near Chance, Clarke Co., AL in 1860.
