She was married July 25, 1913 to Miles McGowan, then he divorced her in Madison in 1915. This is according to the certificate for her second marriage, next paragraph.

She was living in Fond du Lac as of March 1921. She was married to Joseph Michels August 8, 1921. Joseph was the son of Paul and Mary Michels of FDL (Fond du Lac, WI), and had siblings Barbara, Rose, Leo, and Evelyn. Joseph died June 12, 1939 at age 53 [obituary text] [scan1] [scan2].

Mabel is still listed as Mabel Michels, widow of Joseph, in the 1944 Fond du Lac city directory. Then in Goldie's 1948 obituary, Mabel is listed as Mrs. Ed Schultz. Mabel died May 30, 1955. [obituary]. She is buried in Rienzi Cemetery, the same cemetery as Goldie. Apparently Edward Schultz died in 1966 [obituary] [picture of gravestone].

The real name of Ed Schultz was Rudolph Edward Schulze, the brother of Rose Ann Schulze, who was Adolph Reuteler's second wife. Adolph was Goldie's second husband.

Joseph and Mabel had a son, Robert James Michels. In January 2002, I finally found him.
