Golda Lore Dunston, a.k.a. Goldie, was born perhaps April 8, 1884. In 1901, she was sent to a home for dependent children. She gave birth apparently out of wedlock to a girl, Golden Valentine Dunston, on February 14, 1903. She was married to Frank Mullen, apparently on July 29, 1908. She had two children (not counting Golden of course) as of her mother's death in 1913. Apparently Frank died on January 4, 1921. In March 1921 she was known as Mrs. Frank Mullen (or Muellen) and living at 210 West Harrison Street, Chicago. Here is a picture of Goldie along with two children. My guess is that these are her children. However, this picture was taken in 1921 or later, meaning that the small child would be at least her third child.

On February 11, 1925, Goldie married Adolph Reuteler in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin [marriage certificate image] [text]. Mabel, married and living in Fond du Lac, was a witness. Goldie died January 31, 1948 in Fond du Lac [obituary text] [death certificate image] [text]. She is buried in Rienzi Cemetery [picture of gravestone], the same cemetery as Mabel. Adolph later married Rose Ann Schulze (the brother of Edward Schultz, last husband of Mabel). Rose died April 23, 1976 [death certificate text]. Adolph died May 7, 1984 [death certificate] [text].

In my grandfather's 1929 obituary, Goldie is listed as having two children, Leo and Rosellie Reuteler. I assume that the children in the above picture were from her first marriage with Frank Mullen. In Goldie's obituary, just the daughter is mentioned, Mrs. Robert Bitler of Seattle, who apparently had two living children. Here is a picture of Rosella (Pat) and Robert Bitler - taken in Seattle late 40's early 50's.

In September 2001, I found Rosellie's two children. They say her first name was Patricia with a middle name of Rosella. (Later I found her SS-5 in which she indicates her name was Rosella Patricia Fitzgerald/Fritz. I'll call her Patricia anyway.) The older child remembers Patricia mentioning she had a brother named Leo who had died - probably in the 1940's.
