Adam Claypool was born June 20, 1565 in Northborough, Northamptonshire, England and died circa 1634. He married Lady Dorothy Wingfield, daughter of Sir Robert Wingfield & Elizabeth Cecil, on September 30, 1586. She died November 07, 1619. To this union was born James; Edward; Wingfield; John (Generation II); Richard; Elizabeth who married John Durming; Robert; Thomas; Joanna who married Roland Patrick; Dorothy; Henry who married Lucy nee?; Robert and Francis.
Generation II
John Claypool (aka Sir John Claypool) born April 13, 1595 in Northborough Manor, Northamptonshire, England and died April 10, 1661. He married Marie/Mary Angell on July 8, 1622 at St. Thomas Apostle, London, daughter of William Angell, Esq., & Joan Povey. She was born circa 1602 and died April 10, 1661. To this union was born Mary who married William Shield; John (Sir John) who married Elizabeth Cromwell; Elizabeth who married Dr. Alexander Staple; Robert; Wingfield; Granley; Dorothy; Frances; James (Generation III); Edward who married Mrs. Abigail Mascoll; Martha; Norton who married Rachel nee?; and Benjamin.
Generation III
 James Claypool was born October 08, 1634 in London, England and died August 06, 1687 in Philadelphia. He married Helena Mercer (or Merces) who was born circa 1637 in Edinburg, Scotland and who died August 19, 1688 in Philadelphia. They were married December 12, 1657 at Bremen, Germany by Conradus Zelinsa, Calvinist Minister. To this union was born John who married Mary nee?; Mary who married Francis Cook; Helena who married William Bethell; James (Generation IV); Priscilla who married Dr. John Crappe; Nathaniel; Josiah; Samuel; Nathaniel, who married Elizabeth nee?; George who married (1) Mary Righton (2) Martha Hoskins & (3) Deborah Hardiman; Joseph; Joseph who married Elizabeth Ward; and Elizabeth.
James Claypoole and his wife Helena left England July 24, 1683 on board the Concord arriving in Philadelphia by October 10, 1683. Within a short time of his arrival he had his lands surveyed and besides the two Philadelphia lots, he had a good 2000 acres in Philadelphia County plus lands in Bucks and Chester counties. He purchased a small plantation in New Castle County, Delaware and an estate in Sussex County, Delaware. William Penn supported Claypoole and November 1684 Claypoole was commissioned register general. In 1686 Claypoole was elected for Philadelphia County Assembly. He served and was appointed to a five-man commission of state to act as the government's executive branch, but was not re-elected. In 1687 he was elected to a three-year term in the Provincial Council, but had served only 5 months when he died in August. Claypoole was also a participant on behalf of Friends, which he participated in the monthly and quarterly meetings. In his will he distributed 3500 acres to his wife, three surviving daughters and two younger sons. The division of his estate was not completed for many years.
Generation IV
James Claypool born June 12, 1664 in London, England (abt 8 of ye Clock in ye Morning in Scots yard near London stone) and died before July 24, 1706. He married Mary Cann who was born circa 1670 to John Cann and wife Mary nee?. To this union was born Elizabeth (Generation V); James who married Jane Byrd; child name unknown.
James Claypoole was appointed clerk of the court in New Castle, Delaware in 1690. He had built an Inn known as the Old Gilpin House before 1700. James Claypoole, as son-in-law of John Cann, Esq., was appointed to administer the estate of his wife's late father, which included a house and lot in New Castle, materials on dock and a plantation on White Clay Creek. He was from 1685 - 1705 listed in the Delaware Archives as attorney (1685); Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas (1692, 1693, 1696, 1698, 1699, 1700, 1701); Surveyor (1686, 1687, 1705); on October 22, 1695 James & Mary his wife were among those named in the will of Mary Williams, each given a gold ring. (Archives: Dover, Del. Will B. 1, p. 33). James (who had formerly been a Quaker) was baptized by Rev. George Keith on July 31, 1703. His 3 children had been baptized by the Rev. George Keith on April 11, 1702. After the death of James, his widow Mary was wed to Christian Steelman.
Generation V
Elizabeth Claypool born circa 1697 and died September 26, 1767. She married William Pettyjohn who was born circa 1692 in Sussex County, Delaware and he died circa 1749 (will dated January 15, 1749). To this union was born William who married Ruth Scarborough; Levinia who married Amos Littell; Esther (Generation VI); Agatha who married a Mr. Light; Sarah who married Moses Calvin; and Mary.
Generation VI
Esther Pettyjohn born about 1720 in Sussex County, Delaware and she died circa 1803, in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. She was married to Absalom Littell, Sr. He was born about October 1710 in Elizabeth, New Jersey and he died April 13, 1781 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. To this union was born Betsy/Betsey; Esther; Deborah who married John Pettyjohn Jr.; Absalom (Generation VII); Fanny who married David Norris; Adonijah; Josiah; Jerusha who married Isaac VanBuskirk; Anthony; Abraham; Mary who married John VanBuskirk; William; and Andrew.

Absalom Littell, Jr. was born December 12, 1751 in Sussex County, Delaware and died March 17, 1824 in Clark County, Indiana. He married Mary Norris on December 12, 1783 at Dunlap Creek, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. She was born circa 1763 and died April 15, 1844. To this union was born Amos who married Lydia McCoy; Abraham who married Elizabeth VanBuskirk; Absalom III who married (1) Sally Wells (2) Achsah Martin; John Thompson (Generation VIII); Ann/Nancy who married (1) William Pettyjohn (2) Samuel Tilford; Josiah who married Elizabeth Gilmore; and Margaret who married Moses Wilkerson Sellers.

John Thompson Littell, Sr., was born June 18, 1790 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania and died February 11, 1848 Washington County, Indiana. He was married January 7, 1812 to Mary "Polly" Neeld who was born January 01, 1793 in Shelbyville, Kentucky (Another article states she was born 1-9-1793) and died June 17, 1836 and died Clark County, Indiana. To this union was born Milburn who married (1) Sarah Ann Tilford (2) Rowena Martin (3) Sarah H. Carr & (4) Mary Rachel Thomas; Paulina aka Lina who married Franklin E. She was married May 23, 1833 Clark County, Indiana to Reuben Robertson who was born May 30, 1812 in Mercer County, Kentucky and died June 23, 1893 New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana. To this union was born Robert Alexander; John Thompson who married Malinda Goss; Nancy Malissa (Generation X); Mary Martilda; Charles Milburn who married Ella Neighbors; Sarah Jane who married Alvin B. Shaw; Reuben Edgar (twin); Elvira Isadore (twin); Joseph Orlando; and Margaret Emma.

Nancy Malissa Robertson who was born February 04, 1837 in Clark County, Indiana and died December 05, 1913, in Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington. She was married September 18, 1862 (another record indicates September 12, 1862) to William Sanders Walker, Jr., son of William Sanders Walker Sr and Louisa Leffler. He was born July 25, 1839 in Washington County, Indiana and died January 06, 1914 in Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington. To this union was born Annie & Ida (twins), Minnie E. who married Daniel Tucker Dudley; Lieuella Ozena aka Ella (Generation XI);and Emma Cordelia who married Noah E. Rush.

She was married September 29, 1909 Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington to James William Wilcox who was born December 16, 1883 in Sidney Twp., Fremont County, Iowa and died February 18, 1961 in Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington. To this union was born Clarence Lorraine, Isal Gertrude (Generation XIII); Orris Glen, William Ralph, Leola Ozena, Charles Monroe and Orville James.

Ruth Claypool was born July 21, 1766 in Hardy County, Virginia (now West Virginia) and died after the 1850 census in Fountain County, Indiana. She married Robert Denton who was born circa 1766. Robert was a son of Jacob Denton and Mary (presumably Mary Claypoole, but not proven. To this union was born Margaret who married Harmonas Alkire; Mary who married Uriah Osborne; James who married Malinda Wilson Graham; Tirzah who married John Long; Elizabeth (Generation VIII); Rhoda who married John Sharon; and Isaac who married Melissa DeHaven.

Elizabeth Denton was born June 03, 1799 in Kentucky and died April 11, 1855 in Menard County, Illinois. On Arthur Alkire?s certificate of birth it indicates he was the youngest and 12th child of the parents.

George Benjamin Wilcox born April 25, 1858 in Tazewell County, Illinois, died April 13, 1924 in Stevens County, Washington. He was married December 23, 1880 to Rebecca Jane Dougherty, daughter of Ralph Dougherty & Sarah Reed, who was born February 04, 1862 in Mason City, Mason County, Illinois and died April 30, 1945 in Stevens County, Washington. To this union was born Minnie who married Howard Denny; James William (Generation XI); Mabel Sarah who married Edward Ellsworth Miller; George Lafayette who married Floy M. Smith; Earl M. who married Jean nee?; and a sixth child unknown although always thought to be Pearl (twin to Earl) but unproven.
