Roma James Waughtel

Roma James Waughtell, son of Rome and Antoinette Waughtell of Stewardson,
Ill. was born February 10, 1910 at Gillette, Wyoming, and died on March 19,
1935, at the General Hospital, Tacoma, Washington.
Roma
Waughtell
was united in marriage to Miss Eva Layeu and to this union was
born one son, Robert James, now five years old, who resides with his
mother in Anaconda, Montana. He was united in marriage on June 13, 1931, to
Miss Isal Wilcox of Puyallup, Washington, and to this union was born
one son, John Roy, who preceded him in death and one daughter,
Antoinette, 19 months old, who with his wife survives him. He also leaves
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rome Waughtell, of Stewardson, besides other
relatives, and many friends as was evidenced by the beautiful floral
offerings at the funeral.
During
the past six years Mr. Waughtell has been confined to the hospital many
times, and it was only during the last few months he left Stewardson where
he was again compelled to enter the hospital, from which place he departed
this life. Mr. Waughtell was a Cadet in the Salvation Army and died in the
faith.
Funeral services were conducted at the Tiffiney Funeral Home in Tacoma.
We sincerely appreciate the kindness extended to us during the illness
and death of our beloved son.
"The cross for only a dat,
The crown forever and aye,
The one for a night that will soon be one,
The one for eternity's glorious morn.
The cross ~ ~ ~ that I'll cheerfully bear,
Now sorrow for loss or care;
For a moment only the pain and the strife,
But through endless ages the crown of life.
Lovingly,
Mr. and Mrs. Waughtell.
Note: The newspaper clipping was given to me by my sister, Beverly (born
4 months after our father passed away) who received it from her
Mother-in-law. The parents & grandparents of Beverly's husband had been
friends to our parents these many years ago. This clipping was undoubtedly
from a Shelby County (Illinois) newspaper according to family surnames and
place names on the back side that I am familiar with in the general vicinity
of Stewardson.
