Tribute To Sharon
Somewhere a journey begins at the end of the worldly existence we know,
Somewhere a path stretches over the stars, and rivers of memories flow,
Somewhere a silence is heard far away and the brightness of day fills the night,
Where the trials of life are resolved into peace where a soul finds its way to the light.
Sharon Isal (Call) Stansbery
Lt. Col., Civil Air Patrol
March 30, 1950 ~ June 4, 2004
Sharon Isal Call was born March 30, 1950 to Isal Gertrude Wilcox and LeRoy Call at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tacoma, Washington and passed away June 4, 2004 at Puyallup, Washington.
Sharon was a fourth generation descendant of the Levi Wilcox & Elizabeth Alkire pioneer family who arrived in Pierce County in the summer of 1884 from Illinois via Iowa & Nebraska. Stan preceded her in death January 22, 1981.
Sharon was an employee of Kaye-Smith in Renton, Washington until she was forced to retire due to the health problems that eventually claimed her life at the age of 54. Sharon braved the past five years battling first, breast cancer, which went into remission for about a year, then returning in the form of bone marrow cancer. She was a fighter. She never let anyone in the family know the extreme extent of her illness. Her words when asked how she was, was always "I'm hanging in there". Sharon was also involved with the Civil Air Patrol for many years, holding various positions until her health deteriorated and she was forced to retire from this position also.

Sister
Little did we know that morning
that God would call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
