Former Scipio Postal Worker, Ruth Eva Green, Scipio

North Vernon ----- Ruth Eva Green, 82, of Scipio, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday at the residence of Mrs. James Turner, 629 Fourth, in Columbus. She was a former assistant to the postmaster in Scipio.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Dove Funeral Home in North Vernon by the Rev. Vern Doles. Calling hours will be after 4 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.

Mrs. Green was born in Jennings County January 2, 1897, the daughter of Joseph and Belle Waughtel Patton. She was married to Herman Green who died in 1960. She was a member of Scipio Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter Dorothy Hammond of Scipio; a grandson Michael Hammond of Elizabethtown; a sister, Stella Callon of Hamilton, Ohio; two nephews and a niece.
