Funeral Services
For Mrs. Samuel Roley to Be Conducted Thursday

- Mrs. Samuel Roley died at her home in Stewardson at 1 o'clock Tuesday
evening at the age of 78 years.
Mrs. Roley was born
in Franklin county, Ohio, May 23, 1849, a daughter of Soloman and Chloe
Breckenridge Ponsler. She was a niece of John C. Breckenridge of
Kentucky, candidate for the presidency of the United States in 1859. She
was united in marriage to Samuel Roley in Ohio, March 19, 1867. Most of
her life was passed in Prairie township.
Mrs. Roley is
survived by the following children: William F. Roley, Shelbyville; Mrs.
Sherman Yakey, Mullivan; J. M. Roley, living in Colorado; Walter C.
Roley, living in Missouri; and S. Edward Roley, Clem Roley, Mrs. Otis
Shumard and Mrs. Orpha Roley, all living in Stewardson. Samuel Roley,
veteran of the Civil war and husband of Mrs. Roley, died about a year
ago. Mrs. Roley is also survived by a brother, Frank Ponsler of Holland
township.
The funeral was
held from Union church at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
