George Keith I was born about 1626 and arrived in America 1666.  He died about 1737 and it is purported that he lived to the age of 111.  He lived in St. Mary's, Calvert & Charles counties, Maryland.  He married Dorothy nee', who had been released from indenture to Luke Gardiner and that he received 50 acres for the service of his wife Dorothy.


1.  George Keith II was born about 1667; died about 1705, Saint Mary's County, Maryland.  He was married to Ann nee'.  Ann Keith was administratrix in the estate of George, and reported to the court of disbursements on 1 May 1706.  Two known sons were born to them - George III & John.

 

1A.  George Keith III was born about 1695; died about 1805; his land in Charles County, Maryland was sold in 1755 by George (unknown if sold by him or his son George IV) and John Keith.  He married Elizabeth nee'.

 

1Aa.  George Keath IV (aka Keith) was born about 1725 in Charles County, Maryland, and died about 1806 in Bourbon County, Kentucky, left a will naming the children.  He married Monica Pigeon March 29, 1752 in Prince George County, Maryland, daughter of John Pigeon and Mary Gardner (although some researchers indicate this to be incorrect, that Mary was a Hagan rather than a Gardner, I have no actual proof myself and since this is the Keith line I will leave it as such for now).  She was born about 1727 in Charles County, Maryland, and died before 1806.  The 1776 census of St. John's and Prince George Parish lists a George Keath 51, Monica 49, sons aged 20, 12, 6 and 4; daughters aged 17, 15, 12, 9 and 2.  [Also there were male slaves aged 4, 2, and 1; female slaves aged 25, 8 and 4.  A 66 acre tract of land called "Seale of head" was sold to John Kinnick, bounded on east by Alkin Mill Swamp, and Monica relinquished her dower rights thereto, 16 Jan 1775.  Children born to the marital union of George Keath/Keith and Monica Pigeon, are as follows:

 

a.  James Keith was born about 1754; died before 1806.  He married, although the name of a wife and children are unknown.  Only information available is through the estate papers of his father which lists "4 sons & 4 daughters of his late son James".

 

b.  Richard Keith was born about 1756; died about 1836 Pike County, Missouri.  He married Sarah Mason February 16, 1784, daughter of Samuel Mason and to them were born Jetson Keith whose wife's name is unknown and they had William Jasper, Mary Jane, Lucinda & John; Elizabeth Keith married John Shannon; Thomas Fletcher Keith; Samuel Adkins Keith was born January 4, 1786 Montgomery County, Maryland, died February 19, 1862 and is buried Keith Cemetery was married to Isabel Parks and they had Mason Parks, George Rason, Harriet Rice, Sarah Jane, Samue Ranels, James Blair, Richard Hues, Harvey Hamilton, Isabel, John Wesley & Pleasant Mortimore; Richard M. Keith was born about 1788 in Maryland; died September 1826, ;George Mortimore; George Keith was born about 1790; James Keith was born October 23, 1791,  Rebecca Keith was born about 1794; Sarah Ann Keith was born about 1796 and married William George; Melvinia Keith was born December 1, 1809 Bourbon County, Kentucky and she married William Kendrick and they had Sarah Ann, James William, Susan Elizabeth, Richard Marion, twins George Washington & Thomas Jefferson, Jacob Benton, Samuel Mortimore, Malvinia Relief, Lucinda Jane and son name unknown.

 

c.  Elizabeth Keith was born about 1758 and married a Mr. Green and they had a son, James Stephen Green.  James Stephen Green, wife unknown, and they had Martin E. Green CSA General killed at Vicksburg, James Stephen Green, U.S. Senator from Missouri, and Abner Green.

 

d.  Gerard/Jared/Garret Keith was born about 1759 in Prince George County Maryland; died about 1830 Bourbon County, Kentucky and married to Elenor (aka Eleanor) Lusby on December 27, 1782 in Prince George County, Maryland, daughter of Samuel Lusby and Susanna Stewart.  Eleanor was born about 1765 and baptised March 22, 1767 Piscataway Parish, Prince George County, Maryland at St. John's Episcopal Church.  He is shown as Gerard Keith on marriage record to Eleanor Lusby, December 27, 1782, Prince George's County, Maryland.  Children born to the marital union of Gerard/Jared/Garret Keith and Elenor/Eleanor Lusby, are as follows:

 

1.  Horatio S. Keith was born about 1784; died October 1837, Scott County, Indiana, married Elizabeth "Betsy" Rayborn and they had Harvey, Eliza Ellen, John C., Horatio Steward.
 

2.  Ellender Keith was born about 1786; died about 1842, Scott County, Indiana, married Jonathan Johnson and they had Robert A.J., George M., Sarah Ellen, John G., Jonathan C., Horatio K., Parmelia, Emily and Polly.
 

3.  Loyd S. Keith was born about 1788; died October 1842, Scott County, Indiana, and married (1) Peggy Williams and they had Cynthia Ann, (2) Sarah Killion and they had William R., Lucinda, John, Mary Ellen, Margare A., Elizabeth, Harvey and Mariah.
 

4.  George Hanson Keith was born June 18, 1790, baptised June 18, 1790; died February 10, 1858, Daviess County, Indiana, married Aberilla Perkins and they had ann, Isaac T., Wilson, Sarah, Mary Margaret, Martha, Charles, Lucinda, George, Emily & Jarit.
 

5.  John Keith was born about 1791; died Nicholas County, Kentucky, married Mary Nancy Warner August 24, 1818.
 

6.  Rachel Keith was born about 1793, married William Ellis October 27, 1817 Harrison County, Kentucky.
 

7.  Samuel Keith was born about 1795; died unknown.
 

8.   Sally Keith was born about 1797, married Spencer Shumate on March 23, 1819 Harrison County, Kentucky.
 

9.  Maria Keith was born about 1800.
 

10.  Daughter Keith was born about 1804. 
                                 

11.  Rebecca Keith, married John Miller April 23, 1823 Harrison County, Kentucky.
 

12. Jared/Jarett Noble Keith was born about 1806 Harrison County, Kentucky; died November 25, 1882 Greensburg, Decatur County, Indiana.  He married Elizabeth Longnecker, daughter of Andrew Longnecker and Elizabeth Rinehart on January 18, 1827 in Pendleton County, Kentucky.  Elizabeth was born about 1808 in Kentucky and died May 24, 1883 in Greensburg, Decatur County, Indiana.  They had John A. married Mary Ann Merryman and they had Lucinda, Joseph Milton, James, John & Catherine; James Harvey married Susannah Vantreese (see Vantreese family here), Aaron Henry married Lucinda Sharp and they had Lillian Alice, Hazel Iva, Minnie Mae, Dessie Bell, Charles, Albert, John Henrcy, Lucinda Pearl, Mary Elizabeth, Jarrett Noble and Willard Ottis; Lucinda Jane married William Taylor Stevens and they had George, Robert & Ora; and George married (1) Lenna Thomas; (2) Anna Mary Holzleeder and they had Isephine Daisy, Taylor, George, Odo, unknown daughter, Claud, Carl & Forest.
 

13.  Keziah Keith born about 1808.  She married James Holmes February 24, 1834 Harrison County, Kentucky.

 

e.  Mary Keith was born about 1761 and died before 1807.   She married (1) a Mr. Smith and with whom she had three known children, James C., George W., and Elijah;  (2) Zachariah Robinson (aka Robertson) about 1786 in Frederick County, Maryland, son of Lloyd Robertson and wife unknown.  He was born May 6, 1760 in Prince George's County, Maryland, and died January 16, 1839 in Vermilion County, Illinois and is buried Rose Cemetery, Bismarck, Illinois.   Not all of the children of Zachariah & Mary Keith Smith Robertson are known.  Information given to me by another researcher indicates the Revolutionary War pension application of Zachariah Robertson stated that the farm belonged to his first wife's children, and listed children:  Rachel, Margaret, Matilda, James, Delilah, and "Pruda" as dependents. Had 19 children according to Zachariah Robertson Jr. 

 

f.  Joannah Keith was born about 1763.  She married James T. Carrico (aka Kerico or Kerrico.  Children born to the marital union of Joannah Keith and James T. Carrico, are as follows: Mathew Carrico, Francis L. Carrico, George Carrico, James Carrico, Alexander Carrico,

Aquilla Carrico, Anna Stacia Carrico was born April 10, 1806.        

               

g.  Rebecca Keith was born about 1765; died about 1802.  She married Alexander Gibbons October 2, 1792 in Prince George County, Maryland.

 

h.  Edward Keith was born October 22, 1767; died December 22, 1862 in Columbia, Missouri.  He married Ann Lusby on February 09, 1793 in Prince George County, Maryland, daughter of Samuel Lusy and Susanna Stewart.  Ann was born about 1768.  Children born to the marital union of Edward Keith and Ann Lusby are as follows: Catherine Keith, Rebecca Keith and John Keith born about 1800; died June 1867.

 

i.  George Keith was born about 1769; died about 1856 in Chillicothe, Missouri.   He married Elizabeth Farrell.  Children born to the marital union of George Keith and Elizabeth Farrell are as follows: Rebecca Keith, Malvina Keith; died Linn County, Missouri, William Keith was born December 20, 1806 at Georgetown, Kentucky; died September 28, 1890 at Sturgeon, Missouri, and James Keith was born about 1816; died about 1847 at Chillicothe, Missouri. 

     

j.  Monica Keith was born about 1771; died March 10, 1848 Scott County, Kentucky.  She married James Daugherty on July 18, 1794 in Washington County, Maryland.  Children born to the marital union of Monica Keith and James Daugherty are as follows: John Daugherty, Jesse Daugherty, William M. Daugherty, Eliza Daugherty who married a Mr. Driscoll, Matilda Daugherty who married a Mr. Logsdon, and Ann A. Daugherty who married a John Brown.
