Harriett Catherine Green March 19, 1980 Salem, Washington County, Indiana
Mrs. Harriett Catherine Green, age 61, of Route 2, Pekin, the Bunker Hill Community, died on March 11 at 10:30 p.m. at the Naples General Hospital in Naples, Florida.
Mrs. Greene was a member of the Undenominational Church. She had lived in Washinton County for the past seven years and was employed at Kentucky Fried Chick in Scottsburg.
She was born on March 1, 1919 in Clark County to Walter and Lizzie Mae Waughtell VanMeter. In 1972, she married Tulsa Greene, who survives.
Other survivors include one son, Michael Stites of Route 2, Salem; three daughters, Mrs. Janet Rodgers of Madison, Mrs. Pauline Carlisle of Anderson and Mrs. Geneva Reava of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; three step-sons, Ralph Greene and Gordon Greene of Pekin and Jerry Greene of Vernon; two step-daughters, Mrs. Sonia Harmon of Ross, Ohio and Mrs. Betty Wright of Saline, Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. Loris Hauger of Princeton and Ms. Leona Gresham of Salem; four brothers, Roy VanMeter of Park Dam, California, David VanMeter of Scottsburg, Robert VanMeter of Madison and Oscar VanMeter of Shelbyville and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Dawalt Chapel with Brother Joe Hollrah officiating and interment in the Bunker Hill Cemetery.
