Elgin F. Ponsler, 82, formerly of Beecher City died at 12:42 a.m. Jan. 3, at Shelby County Hospital, Shelbyville.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson, with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery, Shelby County.

Mr. Ponsler was born April 8, 1900, in Shelby County, the son of Frances and Martha Ann (Clesson) Ponsler.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Elgin was the last survivor of a family of eight
sisters and three brothers.
