Mrs. M'Gowan Dies at Dunn Residence.

 

She Had Lived in Decatur Many Years.

 

Mrs. Catherine McGowan died at 5:10 Friday afternoon at the residence of her granddaughter, Mrs. E. F. Dunn, 233 West Cerro Gordo street.  Her death was caused by uremic poisoning.

 

Mrs. McGowan was seventy-six years old and had lived in Decatur for many years.  She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church.  She was a native of Queens County, Ireland.  She came to the United States when she was only sixteen years old.  For awhile the family lived in St. Louis.  She was the widow of Fenton McGowan, whose death occurred about nineteen years ago.

 

She is survived by three children, Mrs. P. Kilkeary, Thomas F. McGowan and Mrs. J. L. Gogerty.  She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Humphrey White, besides nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

 

The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning.  The services will be conducted by Rev. Father J. Murphy.  Requiem high mass will be celebrated.  The interment will be to Calvary.

The funeral of Mrs. Catherine McGowan will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Patrick's church.  Burial will be at Calvary.
