3. Samuel2 SALLS (Isaac1) was born circa 1752. He married Rachel (--?--). He died on 27 Sep 1810 at First Congregational Church, Canaan, Columbia Co, New York. He was buried at Dean Cemetery, New Lebanon, Columbia Co, New York; Samuel's stone reads that he died 28 Sept 1810.2

4. Hix2 SALLS (Isaac1) was born circa 1752. He married Mary Briggs circa 1775. He died on 26 Apr 1826 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.4 He was buried on 28 Apr 1826 at St George's Anglican Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.
He There are many land records involving Hix Salls in the early notarial records of Quebec. Not all have been investigated as yet, and some concerned land in Vermont. I think that Hix Salls was the only son of Isaac who was, indeed, a Loyalist, although further investigation of land records may rule out this line of thinking.
Within Canadian Land Records, Hix Salls petitioned Governor Dorchester in October 1795 for land in the town of Clifton, Quebec. "Your Petitioner... humbly begs leave to observe that, Enic Salls, John Salls and Isaac Salls, are his sons who wish to settle with him...likewise two sons under age, Stephen Hix Salls of about thirteen years, and Samuel Salls still younger...Your Petitioner's loyalty & sufferings during the late War, gives them some hope that your Lordship will take this Petition into consideration".
Passed before notary Leon Lalanne on 18 Dec 1822 was a land donation from Hix Salls and wife Mary Briggs to son Abraham Salls, "the 2nd". This involved land in Noyan: Lot #14 in the 4th Range, reserving some land for himself and his wife.
On 29 Jul 1824, Hix Salls and his wife Mary "for reason of their advanced ages & the infirmities incident thereto which render them unable to sustain the care & trouble of their domestic affairs & well knowing the diligence, integrity & capability of their beloved son Enoch Salls, residing in Caldwell Manor...yeoman & relying upon his filial solicitude for their peace, ease & comfort the remainder of their lives..." did give all their property and personal estate to Enoch Salls in exchange for his care and devotion during their last years.5,6

Mary BRIGGS was born on 1 Jan 1757. She died on 20 Jun 1839 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 82.7 She was buried on 22 Jun 1839 at St George's Anglican Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.8

Jacob2 SALLS (Isaac1) was born on 16 Feb 1759 at Salisbury, Litchfield Co, Connecticut.11 He was baptized on 21 Aug 1770 at New Canaan, Columbia Co, New York.12 He married Margaret Taylor circa 1779; It is likely that Margaret Taylor was related to Hannah Taylor, who married Solomon Curtis about 1783. They were also in the Canaan area and came to Clarenceville. He married Rebecca (--?--) after 1798. He died on 21 Dec 1829 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 70. He was buried on 24 Dec 1829 at St George's Anglican Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.13

(--?--), circa 1804; It had to have taken place before 1 Mar 1805. He died after 1827.

Samuel3 SALLS (Hix2, Isaac1) was born circa 1790 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; The Land document mentions Hix' son Stephen Hix Salls "of about 13 years, and Samuel Salls, still younger", both under by he wished to obtain Crown lands for them as well as his older sons in 1795.78 He married Sarah Butler, daughter of James Butler and Eunice Kinsley, on 21 Feb 1811. He married Rachel (--?--) before 1870.79 He died in 1875 at Canton, St Lawrence Co, New York.

She was baptized on 3 Aug 1783 at New Lebanon, Columbia Co, New York.140 She married Ebenezer Kelton in 1800 at St Gabriel's Presbyterian, Montreal, Quebec. She married Gamaliel Little, son of Gamaliel Little and Mary (--?--), after 1813.141 She died on 20 Jul 1864; aged "82".
She appeared on the census of 1851 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Phebe Little, widow, was living with her daughter Delinda Kelton Kemp and her family.142

Ebenezer KELTON was born on 17 Jun 1774 at Warwick, Massachusetts. He died on 30 Nov 1813 at Vermont at age 39.143 He appeared on the census; In 1810, Ebenezer Kelton was living in Calais, Caledonia Co, Vermont.

Gamaliel LITTLE152,153 was born on 13 Aug 1766 at Lebanon, New London Co, Connecticut.154 He was baptized on 14 Mar 1829 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.155 He married Eunice Rood.156 He appeared on the census of 1790 at Lebanon, New London Co, Connecticut; There were three Gamaliel Littles in Lebanon at that time, but since Gamaliel's baptism in 1829 states he was the son of Gamaliel and Mary of Lebanon, that Gamaliel Jr was the one who married Phoebe Salls. At that time he was head of household, with two males over 16, 2 under 16 and one female. He had to have been previously married before 1790. This writer would have to investigate further in Lebanon to be sure if this correct. He would still be too young to have a son over 16 in 1790.157
There were no children of Phoebe3 Salls and Gamaliel Little.

George Field3 SALLS (Jacob2, Isaac1) was born circa 1781 at Canaan, Columbia Co, New York.158,159 He was baptized on 3 Aug 1783 at New Lebanon, Columbia Co, New York.160 He married Elizabeth Danford, daughter of Samuel Danford and Mary (--?--). He died on 23 Jan 1872 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.161 He was buried on 24 Jan 1872 at St George's Anglican Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.

Elizabeth DANFORD was born in 1783 at New York; We know that her parents were Samuel and Mary Danford, since they are mentioned at the late baptism of Mary Danford, wife of John Partlow. Mary was Elizabeth's sister and George Salls witnessed Mary Partlow's burial in 1843.163 She died on 21 Jun 1857 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Noyan Anglican Church. She was buried on 22 Jun 1857 at St George's Anglican Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.164

Sarah3 SALLS (Jacob2, Isaac1) was born on 3 Apr 1786; The census for 1851 shows her born Canada.173 She was baptized on 27 Feb 1787 at Canaan, Columbia Co, New York.174 She married Enoch Wait, son of George Wait and Elizabeth (--?--), circa 1814. She died on 15 Aug 1865 at Lingwick, Compton Co, Quebec, at age 79. She was buried on 16 Aug 1865 at Presbyterian Cemetery, Lingwick, Compton Co, Quebec.

Enoch WAIT was born on 24 May 1776 at Canaan, Columbia Co, New York.175 He was baptized on 6 Aug 1815 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.176 He died on 2 Oct 1856 at Lingwick, Compton Co, Quebec, at age 80; His stone indicates he was 80 yrs 6 mos. old.177,178 He was buried on 3 Oct 1856 at Presbyterian Cemetery, Lingwick, Compton Co, Quebec.179 It is possible that the Enoch Wait, found in Haldimand Twp, Northumberland, Ontario in 1797, with George Wait, is our George and son Enoch. It is likely, given that Enoch's uncle, Benjamin, and his two sons, Jencks and Isaac, were also there at that time.180 He appeared on the census of 1851 at Lingwick, Sherbrooke Co, Quebec; B. Enoch Wait, farmer, b. US, Episc., 78, May 26; Briggs Wait, 26, Mar 26; and Sarah Wait, 68, Apr 3rd. While thsi also gives ages and birthdays, it is interesting that Enochs is listed as B. Enoch Wait. The records do not indicate what constitutes a household, and it looks like John Young, b. Ireland, 33, Dec 25th, is listed with them. Enoch and his family may also be actually liviing with his son Abraham, who is listed directly above him.181

27. Abraham3 SALLS Jr (Abraham2, Isaac1) was born circa 1799. He married Belinda McCoy on 15 Aug 1826 at Dunham Anglican Church, Dunham, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He died on 3 Aug 1874 at Sutton Adventist Church, Brome, Brome Co, Quebec. He was buried on 5 Aug 1874.

Belinda MCCOY was born circa 1806; Info from the 1881 census while living with the Egglesfield family (dau Phoebe). She was born circa 1810 at Quebec; info from 1861 census Bronte, Brome Co. She died after 1881 at Brome Co, Quebec; Since "Melinda" is listed as living with the Egglesfields in Bolton in 1881, aged 75, it is likley she died in that area.214 She was also known as Melinda Salls in the census enumeration for her daughter, Phoebe Egglesfield.

But the fact that they were living with James Wait, son of Enoch and Emily Wait points to the fact that it must be the same family. James' father-in-law, Aber Jewell, was also present, next door.
