William WATSON and Mary TONER
From Artikelly, Aghanloo, Co Derry, Ireland
To
Auckland, New Zealand.
William WATSON (bn c 1833), a farmer living adjacent to the small village
of Artikelly in the Parish of Aghanloo in County Derry, married Mary TONER
(bn c 1835) in December 1856. William was the son of Alexander WATSON also
a Farmer. Mary was the daughter of James TONER and at the time of her Marriage
she was residing in the Sconce Parish of Dunboe County, Londonderry. The couple
were married in the Registrar's Office in the town of Coleraine. As Registry
Office marriages were unusual at this time it is probable that the couple
were of different Religious persuasions.
