The
Grant Homestead, also known as the Ebenezer Grant House, 1653 Main St., South
Windsor, CT. Original site of the home of Samuel Grant,
son of Matthew, the immigrant. Inherited by Matthew's grandson, Ebenezer,
who remodeled it in 1757. The homestead "represents the highest social condition
of a prosperous merchant farmer of that period." It was reproduced in Life
Magazine as a "fine example of colonial architecture." Standing in front,
Phil Baker, Matthew's 9th great grandson.
