I descend from Green Caldwell PAXTON and his wife Rebecca Salena FARRIS. Green PAXTON manufactured axe handles. The following was in his obituary in the Shelby Daily Star: "Mr. G.C. Paxton of Paxton Handle Manufacturers died....Thousands of farmers have used Paxton (axe) handles and found themm to perform satisfactory. Mr. Paxton put quality...The timber he selected was the best and the skill of workmanship was without an equal. Mr. Paxton's handles were so well and favorably known that they were in constant demand."
