Seeking any information on Joseph Edward FARRIS b Webb City, MO in the early 1900's and died in the 1960's in Colorado. He allegedly went by the name of BELL until he was grown and joined the service. His first wife's name was Elizabeth (?), 2nd (?), 3rd Leona and 4th Doris. He reportedly served in more than one branch of the military. He may have had brothers named Frank and John. No one knows the connection with the BELL family other than there may have been a tragic accident involving one or both parents and a fire was mentioned concerning this. SaraLyn Farris

Mary "Polly" Webb FARRISS m John WALKER (b ca 1746) 25 Dec 1792 in Madison Co., KY. Minister - Alexander MACKEY. The bond was signed by John WALKER and Moses WEBB. Mary received a letter of recommendation from Silver Creek Congregation, which appears to have been located near Berea, KY. This was signed by Alexander MACKAY, Elders John COCHRAN and Thos(?) Thad(?) MAXWELL. John WALKER is known to have lived in VA, NC/SC, KY prior to their marriage. In 1793 they settled near Nashville, Davidson Co., TN, moved back to Warren Co., KY for a while and then in ca 1808 moved to New Mardrid Co., MO. Looking for info on Lloyd FARRIS, who was 21 in 1927, when he and his wife, the former Cressie HAILEY became parents of Charles Sylvester FARRIS, on October 5th. This couple was divorced while Chuck was still very young and she remarried and had another son. That family moved to Pickering, Nodaway Co., Mo and the boys were raised there. Cressie would not discuss Lloyd with Charles, ever, and he knows only that he (Chuck) was named after his two grandfathers. Capt. William FARIS 1700-1789, lived with a widow by the name of Jane COPE, after his wife (Mary PALMER ) died. They lived in Boston Mass. His children are named in our tree but have never been proved. There is then a William FARRIS (1782-1834) m Lucy STONE (1793 - Aug 27, 1835) in 1814. They had 9 children. Robert d Mar 28, 1920, in Jefferson Co., AL. Family tales indicate he may have been living in MISS. before coming to Jefferson Co., AL and marrying Mary Frances GLOVER, Aug 23, 1891. Samuel B. FARIS/FARRIS, b. late 1700's and lived in Maury Co., TN in the early 1800's.(There were at least 2 of them at that time). My Samuel moved from Maury Co. to Calloway Co., KY about 1828. I am looking for information on my paternal grandfather, Samuel Houston Ferriss (possibly Ferris). We believe he came from Texas, possibly the town of Ferris, in the late 1800's. He lived in Hart County, KY, in the early 1900's. Probably around 1912, he married Ida Mae Childress of Hart County, and they lived in and around Priceville.
