March 31, 1813; "This Indenture made the thirteenth
day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirteen
Between Nathaniel Parkill and Anne his wife of Sullivun in the County of
Madison of the first part and Alpheus French of the Town and County aforesaid
of the second part Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for
and in Consideration of the Sum of two hundred and Eighty Dollars to them
in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is
hereby Confessed and acknowledged Hath Granted Bargained Sold remised released
aliened and Confirmed and by these presents do Grant Bargain Sell remise
release alien and Confirm unto the said party of the second part in his
natural possession now being and to his heirs and assigns forever All that
Certain peice or parcel of Land Situate and being in the Town of Sullivan
in the County of Madison being part of Lot number one Granted by letters
patent of the people of the State of New York to John Van Epswimple and
Bounded as follows to wit Beginning at the Center of the Seneca Turnpike
Road at the south west Corner of a Lot of Land now owned by Timothy Brown
and running from thence North fifty one Chains and seventy two Links to
a Basswood stake thence south sixty nine degrees west to a Cedar tree marked
H.C. thence up the Channel of the Canasaraga Creek to a Basswood tree marked
L.W and E. C. thence south to the Seneca Turnpike thence Easterly with
the said Turnpike to the place of Beginning Containing thirty acres be
the same more or less excepting all the money or monies that are now due
or oweing to the State of New Yok or the above Granted and Bargained premises
Together with all and Singular the Hereditaments ans Appurtenances thereunto
belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions
remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the estate
right title interest Claim and demand whatsoever of the said parties of
the first part either in law or Equity of in and to the above bargained
premises .....

February 18, 1825; Nathaniel wrote out I.O.U. to John Morrison or bearer for "value received", $28.85, "one day after date with use". At Vernon, Madison Co., N.Y. (family papers - I.O.U.)
April 27, 1826;
Purchased 22 acres, part of lot # 73 of the Oneida Creek Tract , Vernon,
Madison Co., New York for $185.00, entering into a mortgage agreement with
Zebulon Douglas. $10.00 downpayment. (family papers - contract)
May 27, 1826; at Sullivan, Madison Co., N.Y., paid $35.00 on above contract (family papers - receipt)
February 20, 1827; at Verona, Madison Co., N.Y., paid $20.00 on above contract (family papers - receipt)

January(?) 15, 1828; at Whitestown, New York. John T. Parkhill paid $1.92 for tax on property for the year 1828 for deceased father Nathaniel Parkhill. (family papers - receipt)
This appears to be some sort of groceries tally, although I am not sure why Dr. is recorded in the upper right corner. Nathaniel's son John paid the balance after Nathaniel's death.
