William Henry Phipps, b. about 1780

Looking for further information on these lines! It seems these lines could very likely be connected with the William Phipps and Patience Ley line of Main-a-dieu Nova Scotia. The only thing that throws me off is the appearance of Rufus D. Phipps in the 2nd generation as I know that another Phipps line was in Nova Scotia at the same time. The head of that family was Jesse Phipps who m. Elizabeth King. They had a son Rufus b. 1791, m. to Elvira Copps who had a son William Henry Phipps.

1.  WILLIAM HENRY1 PHIPPS was born about 1780.  He married MARY JANE BELL, daughter of JOHN BELL and ELIZABETH WERTEMBER.  John Bell was a Loyalist during the American Revolution received a land grant in Preston Township near Halifax for his efforts. According to Nova Scotia Land Grants Book C. p. 10, under date of April 24, 1812; "William Phipps of Canso in the City of Sydney, Yeoman and unto John Bell of the same place Yeoman, 750 acres of land."
One researcher mentions "Nova Scotia records of contiguous land grants in 1810 or so, to John Bell Senior, John Bell Junior, George Bell, and William Phipps."

Child of WILLIAM PHIPPS and MARY BELL is:
2.    i.    WILLIAM HENRY2 PHIPPS, b. March 1810, Maine or Nova Scotia, Canada  - March 1810; d. February 02, 1883, of Crystal Lake, Hennepin Co., Minnesota.

Possibly son THOMAS PHIPPS b. prior to 1813; d. about 1834, Cooper, Washington Co., Maine; m. LYDIA BARTLETT HOMAN. They appear to have had children
Persis Arvilla, and William W. b. 1833 Maine. William is still at Cooper in 1880 and has a wife Mary b. 1835 in Maine and children William Albert b. 1854 in Charlestown, MA, Ernest R. b. 1858 Maine, Manley J. b. 1865 Maine, and Joseph b. 1873 Maine.
