1. WILLIAM BURRITT5 PARKHILL (EZRA4,
NATHANIEL3, ROBERT2, HUGH?1) was born 1814 in Essex, New York, and died
March 19, 1882 aged 67. He married MARIA ANTOINETTE EVEREST 1844,
daughter of DAVID EVEREST and PARMELIA C. She was born February 06,
1824 in Keesville, Essex Co., New York, and died February 26, 1892 aged
66. Anyone know maiden name of Parmelia? They lived first at Essex,
N.Y. and moved to Keeseville abt 1854. In the 1870 census the now-childless
Parkhills had in their Keeseville household Antoinette's sister Eugenia
(Mrs. George Follett) and her husband and three oldest children, Charles
Albert, "Kyla" [Cuyler Parkill], and
Will Strong Follett, shortly before the Folletts'
move to Brooklyn. The 1880 census lists Antoinette as "Mary A." Parkill.
Antoinette's younger sister Helen died in 1878; after
Helen's widower Albert Rice died early in 1881, Antoinette took in his
blind son, Frank Watson Rice (1852-1914) who lived with her in Keeseville
until her death in Feb. 1892.
Antoinette's funeral service was from St. Paul's Episcopal
Church, Keeseville, to which she had belonged since its founding in the
mid-19th
century.

Antoinette's father, David D. Everest, was at Port
Kent, Essex Co., N.Y. in 1840, on the Lake Champlain shore about three
miles from Keeseville. Essex Co., N.Y. deeds from 1835 to mid-1849 confirm
his location there (by late 1850, the family had moved up the road to Keeseville).
The Stark, Herkimer Co., N.Y. David Everest was a different man.
