Generation No. 1
1.  PARIS MANUEL11 PHIPPS  (DAVID HARTLEY10, JASON9, JOHN8, JOHN7, JOHN6, JAMES5, WILLIAM4, ROBERT3) was born February 12, 1802 in Thompson, Windham Co., Connecticut1, and died of consumption February 11, 1848 of Newburgh, Cuyehoga Co., Ohio2.  He married NANCY HEALY October 27, 1822 at St. John's Reformed Church, St. Johnsville , Montgomery Co., New York2. She was born February 12, 1800 Dudley, Worcester Co., Massachusetts and d. of "old age", July 27, 1883 Fultonville, Montgomery Co., New York, daughter of JOHN HEALY and ELIZABETH DALRYMPLE.
1824;  Assessed for taxes at Oppenhiem, for 100 acres - value of $250.00, personal property valued at $50.00,  (Oppenhiem Town Records)
1828;  Assessed for taxes at Oppenhiem, for 50 acres at a value of $100.00, personal property at $50.00.  (Oppenhiem Town Records)
1830;  Oppenhiem, Fulton Co., New York - 0000100000000110010(the rest zeros)  (1830 Census of Connecticut)
May 24, 1831; in Oppenhiem, Fulton Co., New York at 3 p.m. purchased 8 1/2 acres for $450.00, described as a part of lot #42 of the tract granted to Sarah Magin and others.  Grantor was Gilbert Palen.  David Phipps served as a witness to the transactions.   And then purchased of Nathan and Polly Brown for $25.00 the northeast corner of Lot #42 consisting of 80 acres, and originally of Sarah Magin and others.  Nathan Brown bought from the NYS Land Commissioners Office.  Lot described as on the e side of the public highway from the dwelling of Solomon Mosher to the dwelling of Jacob Youker and sounded as though it was and access to above property.  (Fulton Co. Aug. 5, 1852; Guardian appointed for minors of Paris M. Phipps.    Abigail C. Miles appointed guardian of Josphine V. Phipps and Helen A. Bond. (Had both of Helen's parents died?).  Nancy Phipps and H. V. Wilson bail $600   (Cuyhoga Co., Ohio Probate Records Page 40 case 159)

Paris buried Erie Street Cemetery and removed to Highland Park Cemetery, Cleveland Ohio, March 11, 1916.

2.  JOSEPHA VICTORIA12 PHIPPS (PARIS MANUEL11, DAVID HARTLEY10, JASON9, JOHN8, JOHN7, JOHN6, JAMES5, WILLIAM4, ROBERT3)5 was born Abt. 1835 in Penn Yan, Yates Co., New York6, and died of tuberculosis, March 11, 1875, Norwich, Chenango Co., New York.  She married (1) SECOND LIEUTENANT GEORGE BENJAMIN TYLER7,8,9 May 06, 1856 in Newburgh, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio by Rev. James Shaw10,11, son of BENJAMIN TYLER and CAROLINE HICKOX. He d. July 4 or 9, 1862. He was in Batt'y. F. 1 Michigan Light Art'y from Branch Co., Michigan, killed at Henderson in battle age 29 years. Enlisted as a Lieutenant 2nd Class on October 15, 1861 at the age of 28. Josephine received a pension.  At the University of Michigan archives is a letter from him to Captain Andrews concerning his duties at Henderson, KY. She m. (2) CHARLES HENRY ROSS. He was born about 1835 and committed suicide November 15, 1874 at Norwich, Chenango Co., New York.
She and George Benjamin Tyler are buried Highland Park Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.
GEORGE BENJAMIN TYLER: 1846;   "Secondly, I give devise and bequeath unto my Son George B. Tyler one hundred and twenty acres of land Situate in the County of Steuben being the north part of lots numbers thirty two and thirty three in township number two fourth range being the same for which I hold an article of agreement and in
case I should not procure a deed for the same in my life time I hereby authorize and direct my executrix and executor herein after named from and out of my personal property to satisfy and pay any balance which may be due on said article and procure a deed for the same in the name of my said son George B.
Thirdly, I hereby authorize and direct my executrix and executor within one year from my decease to invest the sum of two thousand dollars from and out of any real and personal property no herein otherwise disposed of in their name in good real estate security if the same can be done so soon if not as soon as the same can be conveniently done thereafter without sacrafice in trust for the use and purposes herein after mentioned that is to say: the interest thereof to be paid to my wife Caroline  until my said son George B. shall arrive at the age of twenty one years for his education maintenanceand support - until he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years; and on my son George B. arriving at the age of twenty one years as aforesaid then I direct the interest and income of the said sum of two thousand dollars to be paid unto him until he shall arrive at the age of twenty five years; if my son George B. shall arrive at the age of twenty five years then I will order and direct that the said principal sum of two thousand dollars be paid over to him for his own purpose use and benefit, and I further will order and direct that if my said son George B. shall die before he arrives at the age of twenty five having any lawful child or children then and in that case, I will order and direct that the said sum of two thousand dolllars be paid unto such child or children share and share alike, and I further will orderand direct  in case of the death of my said son George B. before he arrives at the age of twenty five years without having any lawful child or children my said executrix and executor or the Survivor of them to pay the one half of the said sum of two thousand dollars to my brother Henry A. Tyler for his own use...."
Codicil
February 4, 1847  "Whereas I Benjamin Tyler have in my last will and testament bearing date the 24th day of March 1846 given and bequeathed unto my son George B. Tyler the sum of two thousand dollars to be paid to him on his arriving at the age of twenty five I do hereby authorize and direct my said executors by this codicil to any said will, that if my said son George should on his arriving at the age of tenty one years give satisfactory evidence to them of his business habits and prudence and economy and If theyshall be satisfied that he will make a good use of the said sum of two thousand dollars and not become spendthrift then and in than case my said executors may in their discretion pay the said sum of two thousand dollars to my said son George B. on his arriving at the age of twenty one years."  (Yates Co. Children of JOSEPHA PHIPPS and CHARLES ROSS are:
i. REVEREND HENRY PHIPPS ROSS, b. May 21, 1867 in Cleveland, Ohio. He m. SARAH JULIETTE In 1899 he was living in Taunton, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. In 1902, Henry and Sarah had a picnic in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, fell in love with the area, and bought an estate on the edge of town where they summered for the next forty years! During that time they collected fine works of nineteenth century New Brunswick cabinetry, American and Canadian artwork, Oriental carpets and objets d'art from their world travels. The Rosses later purchased Chestnut Hall, a red brick Georgian mansion built in 1824, to become a museum for their collection, located at 188 Montague Street, St. Andrews and set inside a fenced garden featuring beds of heather, roses, and, of course, a chestnut tree.   See Ross Memorial Museum.
ii. HELEN ABIGAIL ROSS, m. PEAK. She died after 1899 when she lived in Taunton, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.

MILES16 April 27, 1842 in Cuyahoga Co., Ohio17.  March 4, 1854;  Estate of Anson A. Miles  Nancy Phipps appointed adminstrix de bonus non of the estate  A. H.  March 21, 1854;  Petition to sell land for the minors of Anson A. Miles Alvah H. Brainard guardian of Clara P. Miles and Nina H. Miles.    Land sale recorded in record of land sales book "B" page 47.  (Notice Brainard was also connected in the earlier case #788 so one might assume he had some family connection.)    (Cuyahoga Co. Probate Docket A records show; page 804 case 233)  I don't know the Brainard connection but he married Lucy Melissa Owen in Cleveland Nov. 11, 1827.

Children of ABIGAIL PHIPPS and ANSON MILES are:
 i. CLARA13 PHIPPS MILES18; she m. AUGUST MOLLMAN of Brooklyn, NY, June 30, 1870 in St. James Church. August d. before 1899 and Clara d. May 05, 1875 in Orange, New Jersey. Their son was RUDOLPH MOLLMAN. In the will of Lavinia Miles, the youngest sister of Anson, in 1919, the only heir at law for Anson was Rudolph Mollman of Philadelphia, and "ascertaining that Rudolph Mollman of Philadelphia, a suicide, died in 1913 at Atlantic City, without leaving issue...."

Child of HELEN PHIPPS and DUDLEY BOND is:
