widow and relict of John Phips late of Sherborn deceased am satisfied and
content with the sum of 200 pounds old tenor in stead of my dower in this

Sherborn April seven seventeen hundred and forty eight. "In the 1916 map of Central Burying Ground there is a Fairbanks grouping of stones: Capt. Eleazer Fairbanks, Mrs. Martha Phipps, daughter Abigail Fairbanks, and daughter Deborah and her husband, plus some unnamed stones. (Martha and the unnamed stones have unfortunately disappeared.) Copies of that graveyard by historian Frank Bardwell in 1883 include: "Martha Fairbanks Phipps, wife of John Phipps (formerly wife of Eleazer Fairbanks)" (but no death date)" provided by Sherborn Town historian Betsey Johnson, 1997.
Aft. 1743, moved to Brookfield, Massachusetts
She does not appear as widow of John Phips of Sherborn in any of the published genealogies.
