2.  MORTIMER SMITH6 PARKHILL (JOHN RANSOM5, TIMOTHY ALLEN4, NATHANIEL3, ROBERT2, HUGH?1)8,9 was born April 08, 1837 in Howard, Steuben Co., New York10,11,12, and died November 25, 1895 of Canisteo, Steuben Co., New York.  He married ELEANOR SHULTS13,14 Bef. 186215,16, daughter of ALEXANDER SHULTS and LUCINDA WAGNER.  She was born May 17, 1838, and died October 15, 1916 in Canisteo, Steuben Co., New York. According to the census of 1855, Mortimer was a farmer but later became a shoemaker (census of 1860) following in his father's footsteps.  He moved to Canisteo, Steuben County in the 1870s.  The Sunday-school was organized in December, 1876, William La Croix, Superintendent. The Sunday-school numbers 80 members; church membership 50. The first trustees were Rockwell H. Comfort, Le Roy Riddell, J. W. Allen, T. K. Brownell, John N. Jeffers, John W. Brown, M. S. Parkhill, Lyman A. Cook, and William La Croix. The following constitute the present board: R. H. Comfort, Le Roy Riddell, T. K. Brownell, J. N. Jeffers, M. S. Parkhill, Norman Roblee, Elmer Walker, B. McKeen, and J. W. Allen.  J. N. Jeffers, Superintendent of Sunday-school Village of Canisteo, Steuben County, NY Submitted.  Mortimer S. 6.  MORTIMER SMITH8 PARKHILL (CLINTON DEWITT7, MORTIMER SMITH6, JOHN RANSOM5, TIMOTHY ALLEN4, NATHANIEL3, ROBERT2, HUGH?1) was born December 10, 1894 in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co., New York, and died August 07, 1975 in Elmira, Chemung Co., New York - home of his daughter, Suzanne Parkhill Brown.  He married BARNEKAH BARNES27,28 September 191829,30, daughter of EDWIN BARNES and ANNA HOWARD.  She was born August 14, 1895 in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co., New York31,32, and died December 05, 1971 in Corning, Steuben County, New York. The following obituary appeared in the Monday, August 11, 1975 issue of the Leader, Corning, New York: MORTIMER PARKHILL
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon for Mortimer S. Parkhill, 80, a former Ingersoll Rand Co. executive.
He died Aug. 7.
Services will be held in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Local arrangements were by the Hughes and Sons Funeral Home, 311 Lake St., Elmira.
Mr. Parkhill, a former Corning resident, had been residing with a daughter, Mrs. Francis X. (Suzanne) Brown of Elmira since the death of his wife in 1971.
