  July 6, 1807;  Received property from father for "the consideration of the love and good will which I bear to my eldest son Jason Phipps, junior, of Thompson; and who for a further consideration of labour he has done for me since he has arrived to the age of twenty one years - I do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Jason Phipps Junior, a certain platt or piece of land situate in Thompson aforesaid a small part of my farm on which I now dwell containing one acre and a half and thirty rods bounded as follows (viz) beginning at the southeasterly corner of said platt by the side of the Turnpike road at a wall thence running a southwesterly course 19 rods by a stone wall untill it comes to another stone wall thence a northerly course by that wall 12 1/2 rods to a stake by said wall thence a northerly course along near a large spring of water a mass a large stone or rock in said spring about 18 rods untill come to the aforesaid Turnpike Road thence a southerly course by said road 18 rods to the first mentioned bound."  Witnessed by Hannah and Jason Phipps.  (Thompson  Deeds book 4 page 403)

March 9, 1821;  purchased Thompson property from brother David.  (Thompson Deeds book 8 page 177)

1822;  A member of the Woodstock and Thompson Land Company, a committee of tenants who were being forced off their lands by a former owner's descendant who claimed to have found a discrepency in the bill of sale.  The land company engaged the famed Boston attorney, Daniel Webster to advocate their case for a fee of $1,000.00 and a Judge's fee of $500.00 for collecting the legal data.  The case was tried in front of Judge Story and was won in 1822.  A grandchild of Jason Phipps born October 27, 1823 was named for Daniel Webster.

February 1822;  In December 1731; Dudley was set off from the town of Oxford.  The town of Dudley was incorporated, and Mr. Dudley's 6,000 acres, excepting "Paul Dudley's farm" of 1,000 acres at the eastern extremity, were set off to the new town.  This farm of 1,000 acres, remaining in Oxford was long known as "Dudley entailed" land.  The Calvin Aldrich farm, William Hurd, and Jacob Shumway, and also valuable meadows on the river, later part of the Ezekiel Davis farm, were taken from it.  An important suit at law, involving the title to these lands, was brought about 1821 to gain possession by Mr. Williams, one of the Dudley heirs, vs. Jason Phipps of Thompson.  William Pinkney of Maryland was counsel for Williams, and Phipps retained Daniel Webster.  The trial was in Feb., 1822, and the case was strongly contested; decision for the defendants.  Pinkney died a day or two after the trial.  (History of Oxford  - page 39)

June 18, 1832;  In a declaration to obtain the benefit of the act of Congress passed June 7, 1832, Jason makes a statement on this date: "that I believe in August 1776 I was drafted or called out with the militia for 3 months to go to New York in Captain Sa_ Chandlers Co. of Woodstock joined Colonel Ebenezer Williams Regiment at Fort Washington went into the _____
at Berger, Pawles Hook, English Neighborhood __, dismissed this side of the River the day and month do not remember.  I recollect Mr. Day at this regiment but no other Field officer byt Washington.
In March 1777 I enlisted I suppose as a Continental soldier in Captain Issiah Childs Co. for 9 months Col. Bradley. rept. at Peekskill in General Huntington Brigade was at the battle of Germantown.  Helped build the huts at Valley Forge, turned in arms at Fishkill and was dismissed and I got home Sunday, January 14 or 15, 1778.
In 1778, was called out on a militia town to Rhode Island 3 months under Captain Aaron Whitman of Killingly joined Col. Chapmans Regiment at Providence, was at Bristol in the Great Tornado in August of the year, was in ____ _____ __ regiment, was ordered westward march to Plainfield, Ct. then back to Providence and dismissed - Remember Lafayette General Green"
Says he was "born in 1758 in Thompson, Ct."  with a record of his birth in his family records.  Has lived at Thompson all his life

Know all Men by these Presents that we Erastus O. Phipps, Albert Phipps, Lewis Phipps, and Minor Children of Aaron Phipps of Milford in the County of Worcester, above the age of Fourteen years, have named, ordained and made and by these presents do make and Constitute Chester Clark of Said Milford to be our Guardian with full Power and authority for us, in our names and to our use, to ask, demand, sue for and take into his possession and Custody, all and Singular such part and portion of Estate which is or may be Coming to us as heirs to the Estate of Jason Phipps late of Thompson in the State of Connecticut deceased, or which by any other way or means whatsoever, doth of right appertain or belong to us, and to manage, employ and improve the same for our best advantage and profit during our Minority, and to do all and whatever may be  necessary in and about the premises , as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes as we might or could do personally, and being of full age praying that he may accordingly accepted into the same power and trust.
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands ? Seals this eighteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thiry nine.
