David Parkhill, b. 1781

SOME PARKHILLS OF BALLYRASHANE PARISH, CO. LONDONDERRY

PARKHILL OF HALF MILE FAMILY TREE
David Parkhill (died 1864, aged 84) and his wife Margaret (died 1856, aged 80) had children:

1. James of Philadelphia.
JAMES PARKHILL OF PHILADELPHIA - he erected a tombstone in memory of his mother  Margaret who died in 1856 aged 80; his father David Parkhill died  in 1864, age 84;  and James'  brother, David Rankin Parkill died in 1898, age 78.  These were Parkhills of Half Mile, and they arrived at Half Mile between August 1837 and 1859.  The tombstone is in the old the old  Ballyrashane graveyard.  The son and grandson of David Rankin  Parkhill, both named David, long time sextons of New Row Presbyterian Church  in  Coleraine.  There is a room in the church  called the Parkhill room.

2. David Rankin of the Half Mile (died 1898, aged 78) married Nancy (died 1898, aged 77) and had family:
     A. James, married and had a large family.
     B. David (died 1913, aged 63) married in 1880 in Ballyrashane Margaret Jane Platt of Liswatty (died 1898) and had a son, David who, like his father, was sexton of New Row Presbyterian Church in Coleraine.
     C. John, married in 1889 in Ballyrashane Sarah Hemphill of Heagles.
     D. Rebecca, married in 1890 in Ballyrashane, Samuel Hemphill of Heagles, a grocer.
     E. Mary Eliza, married in 1886 in Ballywillan, Jacob Stirling, farmer, Articrunnagh (See Stirling of South Articrunnagh No. 2 family tree).
     F. Rachel Ann.
     G. A daughter, went to Glasgow.

Other Parkhill's of this area from the same book. I have not attempted to organize as yet.

PARKHILL Of LOUGHANREAGH - A Martha Parkhill of Loughanreagh married James McDade also of Loughanreagh in the New Row Church in 1819. John and Patrick Parkhill  appear in the Protestant Househoulders list in 1740 in the  Killdollagh side of the  Parish  (Ballyrashane). There  were/are  also Parkhills in the townland of Risk (footnote, page 71).

PARKHILL  Of RISK - A daughter of Samuel Cochrane of Senirl and  Ballyclough  and Mary Simpson of Ballynaris married a Parkhill of Risk. Samuel was the son of John Cochrane who is
believed  to  have come from the Newtown-Limavady area (Cochrane of Ballyclough Familiy Tree, p. 203-204).  MaudeMoore, daughter of Robert Moore of Billy and  Rachel Chestnutt married William J. Parkhill of Risk (Moore of Risk Family tree, p. 335-336).
 

         NEVINS OF KILMOYLE, OLDTOWN, CARNAFF, AND GREENSHIELDS

Robert Nevin had a farm and comfortable thatched house in Bellisle, which  the landlord there fancied. The landlord shifted him to Kilmoyle, where he obtained a lease of Kilmoyle about 1720 for the lives of himself and his sons. Robert Nevin married and had family:

1. James of the 1st House, died 1796 aged 69, married first a Miss Wilson, near Garvagh and had issue:
     A. Robert of Carnaff married Miss Dunlop of Ballyversal
     B. John, fled to America after 1798 rebellion, died unmarried at Knoxville, Tennessee in 1806.
     C. Mrs. Camac of Che Garry wbo had issue including:
          a. Robert, married Hester Patrick of Masteragee and had issue:
               i. Dr. Robert married MATILDA PARKHILL OF COLDAGH and had family including John Patrick Camac of Derrykeighan (married Maud Miller--see Miller family tree) and Dr. James Camac.
              ii. Dr. Samuel married Madeline, daughter of Dr. Stuart of Ballycastle (in Australia).
             iii. Matilda married Rev. Mr. Moorehead of Roseyards.

          b. Dr. James married Isabella Rowan and had son:
               i. Dr. Peter Gamble Camac, married a cousin Jane Camac and had 12 of a family including: Agnes (married Dr. Robert Craig Miller of Dervock--see Miller family tree), Mary (married Dr. Roulston), Isabella (married Dr. J. L. Neyin), and Thomas (author of History of
Derrykeighan).
          c. Thomas had issue:
               i. David of Coole (his daughter married the Rev. James Colhoun of Benvarden).
               ii. Rev. John of Portrush.
               iii. James.
          d. Mrs. Ross bad issue:
               i. David Camac of Crofthead, married Matilda Nevin.
               ii. Mary Jane married Andrew Stewart of Portrush.
               iii. Anne, unmarried.

PARKHILL OF ARTICRUNNAGH FAMILY TREE

James Parkhill of Articrunnagh married and had family:
1. Leah, married 1891 John Loughrey and went to Scotland.
2. Thomas, married Sarah Quinn and had family:
     A. James, married Martha Elder and had issue:
          a. Polly, married Bertie Cochrane.
          b. Primrose, married Willie O'Hara.
          c. Dorothy, married Dan Ellison.
          d. William James, went to Canada.
          e. Thomas, went to Canada.
     B. Ned, drowned in Scotland.
     C. Thomas, married Lennox.
     D. Grace Ellen, married Hugh Stirling (see Stirling of South Articrunnagh No. 1 family tree).
3. William James, married Susanne Young and went to America.
4. Rebecca, married Robert Dunlop.
5. Ellen, went to America.
