of Robert Parkill late of Leicester in said County yeoman, Decesd.
(Said David Being fifteen years of age as he saith acknowledged that he
made choyce of Simeon Dwight of Western aforesaid Esqr. to be his Guardian.

Men By These Presents, That we Simeon Dwight Esq. John Crabtree & Matthew
Partrick Husbandman all of Western in the County of Worcester Are holden
and stand firmly bound and obliged unto John Chandler Esq.: Judge of the
Probate of Wills, and granting Administration within the County of Worcester
in the full Sum of Two hundred Pounds, in Lawful Money of said Province,
to be paid unto the said John Chandler his Successors in the said Office,
or Assigns: To the true Payment whereof, we do bind ourselves, and
each of us, our, and each of our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, jointly
and severally for the whole and in the whole, firmly by these Presents.

The Condition of this present
Obligation is such, That if the above-bounden Simon Dwight who is nominated
and allowed to be Guardian unto David Parkhill aged fifteen years son of
Robert Parkhill late of Leicester in the County of Worcester, yeoman Deceased
shall and do well and truly perforn and discharge the Trust and Office
of Guardian unto the said Minor, and that in and by all Things according
to Law: and shall render a plain and true Accompt of his said Guardianship
upon Oath, and all and singular such Estate as shall come to his Hand and
Possession by Virtue hereof, and of the Profits and Improvements of the
same, so far as the Law will charge said Estate as shall be found remaining
upon his Accompt, (the same being first examined and Allowed of by the
Judge or Judges, for the Time being, of the Probate of Wills, &c within
the County of Worcester aforesaid) unto the said Minor when he shall arrive
at fulll age: or otherwise as the said Judge or Judges by his or their
Decree or Sentence pursuant to Law shall limit and appoint: Then
this obligation to be Void, otherwise to remain in full Force.

1849; David Parkhill makes
application for a Revolutionay War pension in the name of his father David
Parkhill;
"State of Vermont
County of Addison
David Parkhill of Cornwall in
said county and state after being sworn saith that he was fifty six years
of age on the 22nd day of August last (1849) - the son of David and Dorcas
Parkhill. That his father the said David Parkhill told deponent in
his lifetime that he lived in Williamstown, Massachusetts at the commencement
of the Revolutionary War - that he entered the service from that town and
marched with troops to Boston and continued in the service for about one
year that he was afterwards engaged at the Battle of Bennington and his
brother Nathaniel Parkhill was wounded then by a bull passing through his
hip and he was found on the field after among the slain - Deponent further
saith that during the war his said father lived in Rutland and as he told
him served among the Vermont troops and some of the time in Captain Nathaniel
Blanchard's company - and that he married a sister of Captain Blanchard
for his first wife that he moved to Cornwall in 1784 as he believes - and
that his first wife died August 27, 1790. And that on the 29th day
of December 1791 he was married to Dorcas Abons deponents mother by joel
Linsley Esq. as his mother has often said - that his father the said David
Parkhill died on the 12th day of August 1810.
Deponent further saith that
some few years ago his mother the said Dorcas made a declaration before
Hon. Judge Jenison claiming a pension on account of the service of her
husband - but it has been told that the argument employed had not
produced enough evidence deemed necessary and the claim was not presented.
Deponent futher saith that he was seventeen years of age in the month that
his father died and that after that period and Ebenezer Durfy was appointed
his guardian and further saith not.

Sworn to on the 29th day of
January 1850 before me and I certify I am aquainted with the said David
Parkhill and that he is a person of truth and credibility.

January 29,1850; A letter
dated thus appears in the Revolutionary War pension application file of
David Parkhill;
State of Vermont
Addison County town of Cornwall
M.O. Porter a resident of said
town of Cornwall of lawful age after being sworn saith - That he is the
town clerk of said town of Cornwall - that keeps the records of said town
in his possession - that he has made a search for record of the marriage
of David Parkhill and Dorcas Abons said to have been solmenized about the
A.D. 1790 by Joel Linsley, Esq. and he believes there is no record of said
marriage.
He further saith that there
resided in said town as appears by record one Joel Linsley Esq. and that
he was a Just. Peace for many years including the A.D. 1791. He further
saith that there is recorded on said books the marriage of David Parkhill
and Sibbel Blanchard December 5th 1781 and also the death of the said Sibbel
wife of said David on the 27th day of August 1790.
Deponent further saith that
there now lives near him Mrs. Dorcas Parkhill the widow of David Parkhill
a very aged lady and one who is regarded by all who know her to be a person
of truth and credibility.
