The photo was taken when Granpa lived at Copperas Cove, Texas. It was in the living room of this house that I watched Dad and Granpa listen to President Roosevelt announce the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 8th, 1941. I was too young to understand the importance of what I was hearing, but the expressions on the two men's faces told me it was something terrible. I will always remember that day.
